I think blurb is like one paragraph maybe two.

Short write up, can really be as long as you want. We don't want essays though.

No no. More like a review, or analysis. Free form.

I did a few last time. For my write up on the Godfather I focused on it's history as "the best movie ever," and my general disinterest in the film itself. I used that to say that although I still don't think the film is THAT good, I couldn't disagree with it being number one. Gave a few examples of favorite scenes, a slight sense of a review and done.

For Raiders of the Lost Ark, I talked about the idea of "Adventure" and what it meant for moviegoers. Really, take it anyway you want, but include some synopsis, and some form of a review, but find an interesting frame for that.

3 days or so. Or until all current voters update their lists.

I ended up completely redoing my sci fi list because I omitted some no-brainers

Anyone else interested in increasing counts to 20?

I game and would love to, left off too many comedies.

To get to 20 Sc Fi, I might have to use Star Wars It does have laser blasters! and Space Ships!

So basically, our blurbs will look like shite compared to yours.

Haha. They were all good last time around. Cough, Baloo (who did a nice one on Vertigo, more historical if I remember correctly), BearTiger (around but not sure he posts here anymore), I think Kafka did one as well etc.

I would avoid a straight up review, or a straight up synopsis. Make it personal and relevant, that's all.

Yeah, I did GoodFellas and Ben Hur as well. I talked about what the films were trying to accomplish and why they were considered great. I'm a bit more long-winded, but I kept it to about three paragraps I think.

Blurbing is fun. I treated it like an argument of why you should see this movie if you haven't yet.

It might be best not to let me do a Star Wars blurb. It might turn into a term paper.
