Superdome Parking

For the Giants game, I had the hardest time getting to the dome & parking. The wreck near Laplace set us back at least a half hour which means the Superdome was full by the time we arrived. For future games, does anyone have any suggestions for alternate parking besides in the Superdome garages?

Well, why don't you fill me in on the "free" parking available because I have never found it.

this is asked every week
between S Galvez and Claiborne in near all the warehouse business offers free parking. Under the interstate
and if u want to go farther into downtown, you can park on the street and walk. but you'l prob have to pay

Anywhere on the street where there is a parking meter is a free legal spot on the weekends. Under the bridge (90 /Ponchartrain Expressway) is also free parking.

I asked this thread last week see gameday parking secrets... followed their advice, got their around 10. After circling the warehouse district for about 5 minutes, I found a spot on Commerce behind Tchoup for free. I also bypassed traffic around the dome by getting off at carrollton and taking washington down to magazine.

Thanks. I did consider getting off at Carrolton next time but wasn't sure where to go from there.

In fairness, it's pretty damn dumb to think you're at any sort of discernible risk for being "mugged" going to your parked vehicle with a crowd coming out of the Saints game.

I've always had luck around julia past St. Charles and around Tulane hospital. Easy as hell around Tulane, I just take canal all the way up to city park ave. and jump on the interstate there.
