I'm sorry. Between the Red Wings, Tigers, and Lions there's not much more to say. Plus, outside of sports, there's not much to do there anyway. Damn.

I don't even know what this means...

The Red Wings are always good, the Tigers have been good lately, and the Lions suck., Sounds like every city's sports - some good and some bad.

Red Wings lost the Stanley Cup, Tigers got beat in the AL Central playoff, and the Lions...well, they're the Lions.

3 of their 4 major sports franchises have made it to the championship game i there respective sport over the last 5 years. Not exactly shameful.

So your point is the Red Wings go to the Stanley Cup playoffs almost every year, win about half of them, and this is one of the ones they lost?

The Wings have not gotten off to a good start this year. Obviously, it's very early in the year, and they should have no problem making the playoffs, but I feel they're no longer "elite". They lost a few key pieces from last year, and just keep getting older and older. I think Chicago will win the Central Division this year.

Maybe you were just exaggerating (and it's not that big of a deal, either way), but they've won two in the past 11 years. Certainly not "half". Saying they win half is like saying the Patriots win the Super Bowl every other year.

they have also won 4 of the last 13.
Still they lost in the Finals last year and won it the year before, I am at a loss to see how that is bad for Detroit.

The Pistons have 3 championships in Detroit and they were the best team in the Eastern Conference throughout this decade. The Red Wings are the Yankees of the NHL. The Tigers were in the World Series 3 years ago.

Not bad.

It's not bad at all, and this thread sucks. I was just talking about that specific post, though, and how the Wings have been struggling a bit this year and haven't had as much success as matt thought. They've still been awesome, though, and in no way do I feel bad for them.

my 2nd comment was directed at the OP. I have to admit, I thought they had been in the finals more than they really have.
