I live in Houston, so there is probably about a 50% chance that I can pick up the Saints game each week. Does anyone know of a better way to pick up all of the games in Houston besides purchasing Sunday Ticket? Can I just purchase a few select channels? I hate to pay $300 dollars for just a few games. Am I missing something, or is this just the only option.

Other than network, I think you might be able to buy the other games on Direct, but, I think they're abt 50 bucks a piece.

The lady I spoke to told me I couldn't do this. Maybe she didn't know what she was talking about.

Call DirecTV or go to the web-site. They are currently offering a deal on the Sunday Ticket and the top level package if you are a current subscriber for the next 5 months and you can opt out at anytime.

What do you mean by "top-level" package? I thought there was only one level package for Sunday Ticket.

Sorry got it backwards. If you order Sunday Ticket at the regular price you get a free upgrade to their Ultimate programming package for 5 months. They are currently offering this to new and old subscribers. So it wouldn't help him any. The telemarketer that called me was talking so fast that I had to ask her to explain it to me 3 times and I finally just slammed the phone down.

I live in the Houston area and have had DirecTV for 9 years.

You can't pick and choose games on NFL Sunday Ticket - have to buy the package which shows all games (except those being shown in your market on free tv - cbs, fox)

It is steep but other than streaming on the internet, there are not any other options.

Saints fan in Houston with sunday ticket too. It is your only option.

Streaming online is horrible IMO. It's real easy to get an unbearable lag. You cant see the picture well, ect.

With that being said the regular sunday ticket ($300) does not allow you to watch games in HD or get any of the other cool features like the redzone and game mix channel. The "superfan" package will cost you an addition $100 i think.

You can definitely negotiate with Direct TV, they are struggling to get people to get the ticket with the economy being the way it is. My buddy got the NFL ticket after week one for $150 and we all chipped in.

other option is go to a sports bar and watch it. I live in NE Houston, Humble, and right across the street is a sports bar with 7 foot HD projection TV's, one corner of the bar is the Saints game every week. It was called Mulligan's but has changed ownership and is now called Coaches. Great place to watch the game.

Sucks that the game is on CBS and not opposite the Texans but still they don't show it because of the stupid cowgirls game.

I think that sunday ticket is the only way to get it.
I have picked up every Saints game that hasn't been broadcast in Austin on the internet. Direct TV has no service here in the Zilker Park area which I find hard to believe.

Most of us got the Direc TV SuperFan package for half price this year.

All you had to do was call DirecTV and give them a sob story about how you can't afford it in this economy, yada yada yada and they lower the price from $300 to $150.
