We all know UGA ranks dead last in the SEC for pass defense. Teams average 243 ypg against the dogs.

Bryan Evans (S) at 5'11, Brandon Boykin (CB) 5'10, Prince Miller (CB) 5'8.........Might explain why there have been a whopping 10 passing TD's against them (last in the SEC).

Should be an interesting game with our 6-5, 6-4 recievers against thier sub 5-10 CB's.

Predictions anyone??

How many yards does JJ have? How many TD's?

The funny thing is, Jefferson really had a "breakout" game last week, and no one seems to have noticed it.

I think I also heard Les Miles state Wed on his show that if an opponent loads the box again (like Miss. St.) they are going to throw much more instead of trying the run repeatedly and failing. Should be interesting.

Considering his limited starts and inexperience, it was a breakout game of sorts. But I'm actually talking about a 250+ type of breakout game. The matchups are certainly there. If LSU spreads them out with 4-5 WR to exploit matchups(which I expect) JJ could hang a bunch on the bulldogs. Hell, I might be tempted to throw a few downfield jump balls against thier midgets if I was Miles. The size difference is ridiculous.

Because Les shut down the passing onslaught intent on jump-starting the running game which did not happen. Had they continued to push the passing envelope the Tigers win comfotably IMO.
Based on Les' admission of guilt I feel this week he'll release the hounds. Look for the "8 in the box" to get UGA in trouble early and often.
JJ- 20/28 295 yards and three t.d.'s.

hopefully more play action -- dude on SEC Gridiron show (I think) gave some stat about JJ's redzone proficiency being like 100% on play action vs. about 20% on straight drop back

Cornerbacks are rarely the same height as receivers.

Max protect outta the I and take a couple shots against single coverage. Then try a double move or 2.

I think we all realize this.

But to suggest that UGA has an average size secondary, is silly. They are small and have been picked on all year.

Ever notice they never answer? Answering would show how stupid their position is? They would rather operate in the nether world so they can adjust based on JJ's next performance. Gotta keep hatin' you know.

What would a "breakout game" for a SEC caliber QB be? I think most would agree a 250+ type of game with limited turnovers. Did JJ have a breakout game based on his previous performances? Yes, he did........and I dont see anyone downplaying it, but I'm not sure it would be classified as a breakout game in the broader scope of national or conference play. No more than if JL came out and DIDNT throw a pick 6.

We throw deep and early to get them to drop back into coverage and attempt to revive the running game.

Murphy's Law: We will be able to run for 200+ and pass for 180 because of that.

It was kind of poo-poo-ed because it was MSU. Also, Miles said we should have thrown for 350 in retrospect. So that's on the coaches more than JJ. However, I don't think it's possible to really have a breakout game against State. To me, "breakout" implies nationally, so I think Georgia Tech was closer than any of the games this year. Nobody was watching last week. But everybody will be tuning in Saturday. Let's see if he can begin building his legacy.

btw, part of me wanted MSU to score at the end of the game last week. I wanted to see JJ lead the team down the field to win the game. I think he would have.
