Is Charles Scott's weight loss a problem?
How has it affected his running ability?

The loss of Quinn Johnson at fullback is hurting.

Defenses stacking up their lines to prevent and protect against the run is hurting Charles Scott. When you put 7-8 linemen in the box, it is difficult to block all of them and get a big hole.

That said, I seem to remember him carrying the Vandy defense on his back a number of times... whenever he was able to cross the line of scrimmage.

Has he lost that much weight? He seems slower to me. But losing QJ is hurting for sure, and our O-line is under performing.

He's fine. It's all the other stuff. Like they said. It seems like our offensive identity is changing.

This will all change when Miles and Crowton begin to open up the playbook. Hang on tight, because it's coming.

No, but his weight gain was a problem last year.

I'd say that 39 rushes for 213 yards against Vandy does not constitute any problem at all.

He was a finesse runner when he came in ala O.J simpson and they tried to make him a power back I always thought he was better finesse then power, but Hester influenced him alot.

ok mba, now you're flaming. the problem is our o-line (just like in 2006). A faster RB like Williams is needed to bounce it outside when holes aren't opened.

The inability to get the football downfield with a vertical passing game affects Scott more than anyone.
Scott's meat and potatoes is between the tackles, but with everybody in the box and a weak fullback he has nowhere to go. KW has better speed to get outside which helps account for his better performance.
As our QB's mature and throw downfield more, you'll see better performance by Scott.

He can only run through gaping holes, that's his problem.
