Just did my first one Monday. It was great. Are you looking at a sprint or Olympic?

Definitely just a sprint for now to get the hang of it. I can run pretty good, but I don't know if my swimming is up to par. Also, where is a site to find out where local Tri's are going on?

Tri season is basically done. You might be able to find one more, but probably not in 10 weeks. I would look into next year.

FWIW, the swim is my strong part, but its only like 10-15% of the race. Most everybody out there is a crappy swimmer so you aren't alone. And the difference between a good swimmer and a bad one is only a few minutes on that leg.

Tri "season" is hardly ever over in the South. Look at lafayettefitness.org; there are sprints and super sprints all the way into October. If you want to travel a bit there are race into November in Florida; check out trifind.com.
Good luck and have fun.

Thats good to know that I'm not the only one. I will look out for next year's run. I'm guessing they're only in the summertime. I really think I would like the challenge of getting through it; I'm not expecting to win even though it would be nice. Thanks for the tips!
