UL-Laffy's Falgout sets record

per ESPN: ESPN link
I want to thank Justin Hatcher from Slidell, La., for giving our wonderful stat people a chance to look up what has turned out to be an NCAA record.
Here’s Justin’s question:
Graham, Louisiana Lafayette WR Richie Falgout is now 4 for 4 with 4TD over his 3 years after throwing a 42 pass for a score on Saturday. I have been trying to figure out if 4TDs in first 4 attempts is a NCAA record, could you get one of the ESPN Stat gurus on this? Thanks, I really enjoy the blog.
Well Justin, according to the NCAA record book and the stats and analysis folks here at ESPN, there only has been one other player to throw a touchdown on his first two passing attempts. That was Michael McDonald, a walk-on quarterback at USC who completed his first two passes -- one in 2005 and another in 2006 -- for touchdowns. As a senior in 2007, he was 1-for-2, but no touchdowns.
So yes, Falgout’s four touchdown passes on four career attempted passes is not only an NCAA record, it’s an NCAA record by a longshot.
Thanks for the question and the heads up on a record-setting player at Louisiana Lafayette.
