And this is very telling:

quote:

What should teams like LSU know about a player like Reed? The wideout was pointed in his response, commenting that he consistently “worked hard” and was “a humble person”; yes, he “had his moments,” he admitted, but for the most part, coaches weren’t going to find him running up and down the field “hootin’ and hollerin’”. If he found a person better than him at his position, Reed noted he would remain focused on addressing whatever needed to be done to make himself faster, more evasive, a better catcher – whatever it was. Such comments leave little doubt that Reed intends on being one of the best to ever play the game if given the opportunity – and, in our opinion, he certainly has the physical attributes to eventually meet that goal.

I wish that quote was from an interview after his visit to Auburn this past weekend. Unfortunately, that quote was from an earlier interview. Not raining, just sayin'.

Then he should probably go ahead and commit. Like this was a surprise anyway.

ESPN also has this today: LINK

quote:

"If they don't like it, I wouldn't feel comfortable. They wouldn't want to come see me play, and that's one of my main factors - my family."

Playing in BR would be the easiest way for the whole family to watch him.

Why does that mean he ruled out AU?

probably means he's more likely to go to AU being that they traveled such a long distance and put so many miles on their cars.

Being a little paranoid today?

I read every post on here and no one said he had ruled out AU.

Are you just expecting it?

Hold your head up. You are still in it and Chiz hasn't lost a game at AU yet!

sounds like he is a class act
thats the kind of player LSU has always targeted

i like a guy out of high school who doesnt try to be recruited. the kind of guy that commits when they know and doesnt hold out just to announce on tv or on signing day

Ten family members, in at least two vehicles, travelling seven hours of road time and probalby an hour to an hour an 1/2 of down time in restroom stops, eating, filling up with gas, and stretching the muscles compared to a two hour trip Baton Rouge. Spending a night in a motel and getting up eating breakfast and travelling the same route back the next day. This would have to be expensive for any budget

Also, there will be other inconveniences of getting off work on Friday at noon and having to get up to go to work on Monday. This being done for seven or eight home games a year. How many times could Trovon get to go home for 'Cajun' cooking in a year?

Could Trovon get a good family atmosphere at LSU and maintain close contacts with his extended family without the additional concerns that the 430 mile distance to Auburn entails?

How will the seasons play out for LSU and Auburn? Trovon will get to see both programs and understand just how he will fit into each system.

I am sure that Trovon and his extended family will sort through these issues as well as many more and make the right decision for Trovon. Trovon is a great young man amd fans from both universities should be more concerned about what is best for Trovon. Only he and his family need to make that decision.

What seems best for him at the present may seem quite different on the first Wednesday in February.
