Russell Shepard or Jordan Jefferson
Laval Edwards or Bennie Logan
Morris Claiborne or Tyrann Mathieu
Ronnie Vinson or Brandon Taylor
Rueben Randall or Brandon Lafell
Chris Davenport or Drake Nevis

your thoughts and why?

RS or JJ is a tough one for me, I think JJ is gonna end up being a freak....

But I'll take the left for all others.

Jefferson
Great question, both are studs IMO. Edwards.
Mathieu only bc he's easier to project
Vinson, more physical. Close though.
Wow, toughie. Randle, but they're both awesome.
Nevis, he's safer.

Those were all tough. One of the only easy ones was Jefferson.

fyi, regarding shepard v. jefferson. i am looking at overall productivity of the two, not just at the QB position.

does that change anything?

fyi- I like Edwards alot also.

No, bc it's hard for a slot WR to outdo a stud QB.

Yeah, Edwards was a freakin' TE and FB at his size in high school. He's a great athlete. He'll be the best DL we signed in that class IMO.

Great questions by the way.

my picks would be:
shepard - he's just so talented
edwards
vinson
mathieu
davenport -he has 4 years, nevis will only play
for 2 years, got screwed for 2 years
randle - same as shepard

I really can't even make a judgement here. RS will be the common answer, but Jefferson could be an all-time great at QB in the next 3 years. I consider this a "draw" that this time.

Laval Edwards or Bennie Logan

I'll go with Edwards. I've never been as big on Logan as some, but he does have some good potential. I could see Logan getting eaten up by the depth chart, but I don't see Edwards having that issue at DT.

Morris Claiborne or Tyrann Mathieu

I'll go with Claiborne, but this is a bit of a stretch. I went with Claiborne because of his size and he reminds me of Webster. But he has never played CB and we don't even know where he will be playing.

Tyrann could end up being a star, but I hope to see some more of the kid over his senior year.

IF Tyrann grows, then he could be a superstar.

Ronnie Vinson or Brandon Taylor

Another tough comparison. Its not really fair to look at guys that haven't even played their senior year of high school ball yet.

I would go with Vinson at this point.

Rueben Randall or Brandon Lafell

It's Randle, and I will go with Randle as the better player.

I think both are first round talent, but Randle could be the best to come through LSU in awhile (and yes, I know thats saying a lot).

Chris Davenport or Drake Nevis

I go with Drake Nevis here for sure. I just don't see Davenport getting the leverage at DT that he needs.

lynx, why aren't you big on Bennie? You know that's one of my guys. Check out his Senior vids on Scout.

Not as much of me being down on Logan, as much as, me being higher on other guys that are on the DL.

I just see the depth chart being tough to overcome. I think we are stronger at DE than any position on the team looking in the future.

I think he could easily grow into a DT even if he's only about 260lbs right now, as opposed to his listed 272. He should be at least 280lbs two years from now, and he'd be the 4th DT in a great rotation with Edwards, Davenport, and Downs. With his quickness off the ball, he'd make a really good 3 technique.

I can go with this. I could see him being very, very good at DT if he switched there--and to be honest, I see a lot more need at DT than DE.

I think that would be a great position with his skill set.

I take the players with most heart and work ethic in each slot. Just dont know who that is yet on a lot of slots. Also, injuries will determine a few of these. Often freak injuries. If you can predict that should be living in Vegas man.
