NCAA 2010 is probably one of the worst games I've purchased

I love to play the game series but this year's game has so many flaws.

1. Why does a 1-4 team play like they are the best in the country? I was up against the CPU and got my arse handed to me 34-10.
2. Why can't I complete a pass down field? I am terrified to throw the ball. I am currently in a dynasty with Texas Tech, a pass oriented team. Well, let's just say that my best player is my RB. My receivers do not run the correct routes, plus the CPU defenders know every single play I call before I hike the ball. Pass interference is never called against the CPU.
3. What's up with the camera? When I roll out why can't I see my receiver? The camera in this game sucks arse.

1. I completely agree. It seems like all the teams are out of place. I have an od with USM where I beat Penn State and got beat by UAB.

2. It doesn't work nearly as well, true, but it is much easier to pass in the middle... it's just new, not necessarily worse.

3. I thought the camera was much better in this game... in the other you can't see the corners of the field at all. If you're running a wr screen you just have to hope there's no one there because you have no chance of seeing.

I think this game is much better, you just have to get used to it. I wouldn't write it off yet if I were you, you may really enjoy it later, like me.

I kind of see what you are talking about but sometimes this game is just complete bull****. I just finished a game. I was up 24-21 with 1:00 left in the game. My RB fumbles the ball at the opponents 5 yard line. With no timeouts, the CPU drove the ball down the field and won the game. Complete b.s.!

Yeah, sometimes the game wills you to lose. I've had many a fumble in the redzone with the running on balanced and many a qb and wr breaking 18 tackles and taking it to the house. My brother is the most unlucky gamer ive ever seen. When he's up, the ball sometimes goes through the body of his wr or db and into the hands of the other team. It really sucks but you can't prevent it... they've improved on some of it, such as no more superman picks. Also, as far as i've seen, my brother hasn't had his ghost problem yet on the new game

Wow....

I never really got into the Madden series. I always played college. I might look into it.

From what I've seen Madden is gonna be way better. I saw the 'everything you see on sunday thing' and it looks really cool.

Everything You See on Sunday

I assume it will be the same for PS3 and 360

at how NCAA only has very poorly rendered guys with "similar" looking uniforms on on the sidelines. They were awful proud of their new additions of field goal nets and animated flags on top of the fg posts.

Hey NCAA. Outdone much? Sometimes sucks to be such a big cfb fan.

If you go back too far behind the line of scrimmage, the buttons fade away. This is the best addition to the game IMO. All some of my friends could do is roll out, about 15 yards backwards and just scramble way behind the LOS until one of their receivers was WIDE THE frick open. Sorry if you are one of those players. It was especially bad with Tebow last year.

As for the other ones, passing is much harder, esp since speed apparently doesnt mean jack shite, so I mostly agree with 2. You really gotta set up the plays to get the big gains. The CPU does seem to always have excellent pass D, but its fairly difficult to play good pass D for your own team. Theres hardly any more "video game" like stats, its more realistic. Just bump the difficulty down for a bit until you get used to it, then try and go up.

Number 1 I have no idea why. Ive seen this happen.

I take it you didn't purchase 2008 and 2009.

I've yet to play the CPU so I can't comment on that.

It's really not that hard. Especially when someone blitzes, you can get a WR behind the D and make a big play.

But you gotta have decent user catch skills in order to do so.

Considering the same guys that program/develop Madden also do NCAA, I really don't understand the huge discrepancy in the 2 games.

That being said, NCAA is badass this year, most will agree.

I don't see how you can say NCAA 2010 is one of the worst games you have ever purchased. If you have bought any NCAA game the last 3 years they are all easily ahead of this years game. They finally got this game figured out and made a decent/realistic game.

Wow ... I honestly think that passing is MUCH MUCH easier this year than almost any year. Are you guys talking about fly patterns straight down the field? Or, are you talking about post patterns, button hooks, out patterns and corner routes? As one of the other posters said, the "video game" like stats are harder to come by because the defensive backs cover the fly routes MUCH better now. When I first got the game, I did not like it either, but as I continue to play more and see that there is a lot more strategy involved (again the other post said the same thing) I am beginning to really like this game. If you are having trouble passing, try to call plays that have one receiver running a route you think will work against man coverage and another receiver running a route you think will work against zone. The Ace - Slot TE Post is a perfect example. One reciever runs a fly, the tight end does a post over the middle, the slot receiver runs a corner and the far receiver runs a drag route. Also, the back runs into the flat. Against zone you can go to the back, or the drag. Against man, you can usually hit the tight end over the middle (especially if there is a blitz) or the corner route and sometimes you can hit the fly pattern. Notice the use of the new setup feature where you setup the big plays with the simpler ones. You could also try a different playbook. Sorry this is so long, but I felt the same as you guys when I first got the game, but I have gotten used to the features and enjoy it now. Hope this helps somehow.

I really havent played more than 3 games all on heisman, so what I said was from the little personal experience i have from me playing, but my roommates play all god damn day, and Ive seen plenty. One of em who is REALLY damn good with florida state and who was disappointed on 09 when he got less than 800 yards offense is having some trouble with the deep pass in 10. I guess I gotta get it and figure it out.

I don't know what is going on with the camera angle, especially on screen plays to a WR. The camera instantly shifts to show more of the field where the receiver is, which I dont like. And, there are a TON of other smaller bugs that drive me crazy.

That is exactly right bro. They tried to cut down on being able to just drop back and chunking the ball down the sideline. The idea was to make you come up with a little strategy and kinda setup your offense as opposed to just throwing the ball up and letting the fastest person run under it.
