I just cannot understand why our players weren't protecting the plate with three strikes. Swing the bat and (hopefully) stay alive. That crap can't happen tonight and I doubt we will see this happening again this evening.

Not picking up the slider is one thing. When you have two strikes, you need to protect the plate and stay alive until you can get the pitch you're looking for. Simple as that.

when you have 2 strikes, it gets pretty hard to "look for a pitch". you basically have to take what the pitcher gives you.

Ump's strike zone was also shaky. I agree, protect the plate with 2 strikes, but Jungmann was throwing b.b.'s out there. He was a wizard, hitting his spots even with all the movement.

I think it's more a testament to Jungmann rather than a condemnation of our hitters.

Easier said than done when a guy is throwin 92 mph fastballs followed by 84 mph sliders that look exactly the same until a few ft before the plate. If he wouldve swung over the top of the a slider in the dirt that looked like a fastball ya'll wouldve been screaming "What are you swinging at!!!". You just gotta tip your hat to Jungmann, we couldnt pick up his pitches and he had our number all night long.

I'd rather see them go down swinging than with the wood hanging on their shoulder. They took way too many strikes right down the middle of the plate last night on all counts. When a pitcher is pitching that well (and he was), then why not at least take a few hacks at the ball? I mean, shite, we're down and no one is even trying to get the bat on the ball. (And yes, I know they were trying, but damn it was frustrating watching that game.) We'll get their asses tonight.

Jungman is a phenom...I wasn't surprised. Hoped he would have chocked...like the first game. I suspect that is why Augy put him in the first nite...to break him in.

It's all Renaudo now...if he bows up and is on his best game...we win. Is is going to be hot again today (minus the rain); if so, it will limit Renaudo's pitch count...and put T in the advantage.

Whatever...I like our chances; what more could we ask for. The whole year, got us right where we wanted to be.

Love them Tigers

I think the rain delay helped Texas. Believe it gave them a chance to call down, but who knows. I think Erin Andrews made a comment about that during the game.
