Pinetta's closed thru June 17th - Went to Zea's

Me and the Wife were going on one of our elusive datenights, and were both craving some Pinetta's. We were greeted with a sign saying they were on vacation till the 17th. Just wanted to let you guys know so your heart doesn't get broken as mine did.
My wife ended up begging me to go to Zea's. I had been before to the Laffy location about two years ago and was underwhelmed. I like the way "date night" usually ends, so I decided to play nice and let her take me.
It ended up being a good decision for two reasons. We shared the duck empanadas, which were awesome! Great way to use leftover duck IMO. My wife had the twice baked duck, which was pretty good. I didn't like how everything was covered in cilantro, but wife loves that stuff. Not a big deal, I just brushed it off.
I opted, as I often do, for the cheeseburger. This one was made with American Kobe beef. I topped it with grilled onions and Monterrey Jack. I have to say I was impressed.
The burger was Juicy and flavorful. It required no mayo, mustard or ketchup. The bun had a slight buttery sweetness to it, which is one of my favorite things on a burger. The price was a little high - $16.95 - but it I'm glad I tried it.
This could easily be my new fourth favorite burger in town.
1. Juicy Juicy! Rouls
2. Cheeseburger Poboy at Brewbackers (If you get a good one)
3. Copeland's - Love the Croissant
4. Umm...Maybe Zea's.

I'm going to be eating leftover Chicken Enchilada Pasta from Zea's for lunch today. I've only been there twice but have ordered it both times. It's quite good.

If you like burgers, then you need to go to Mason's. Their burgers easily top anything Zea's, Copeland's, Brewbauchers, or Raoul's can put out. It's just my opinion but I wouldn't steer you wrong.
Also cilantro rocks! You fail

The old owners used to close for the entire summer.

and if you want to try a good burger, try out Bistro Byronz on Gov.
PS I've been underwhelmed with Zea's the three times I've been there, guess I should try again.

I love their old school attitude. Not many restaurants in BR have the cojones to do that.

I like the hummus
Corn grits as a side is pretty solid as well. Can't recall liking any of the entrees that much

Had my first meal at Mason's. Got the Cajun Shrimp burger - WOW! Easily one of the best burgers I have ever had!
Ditto on cilantro - that stuff is awesome!
