Mine went out a few months ago for no apparent reason. I just didn't use it or try to turn in on for about two weeks and it decided to work again, haven't had a problem since

my parents have their own wii and it stopped working too. I tried to use the plug for my wii and it worked fine. So if you have a friend that has one too, i recommend trying a different power cord.

Same thing happened to mine. I called tech support, they said to completely unplug it from the Wii and wall, wait about 10 minutes and plug it back in. I did that and it worked fine.
