Who is Dandy Don?

I read his website daily, but who is he? How does he have the inside info he has? He almost seems like an LSU sports mystery man. You don't know who he is or what he looks like, but you still read his stuff. What's his story?

You are going to get some very opinionated responses. People either love or hate him. I don't particularly care for his stuff b/c a lot of it is completely ridiculous and wrong.
He is an older guy that has been around for a long time with his fingers in a bunch of different pots. He runs his website like LPB. Begs for donations.

He is a small bridge troll that lives underneath the Dalrymple off ramp...he doesn't force anyone to read his page.

I haven't seen Don beg for donations. He asks. But there are a lot of beggars around (expecting handouts from God or someone else, like their bosses or spouses).

DD is an older gent who loves LSU with a passion. Does a great service for many fans. Has problems with some of his information time to time, but he is basically a fella who loves the tigers, knows quite a few HS coaches etc....think he used to be an official. Has grammar and spelling faux pas, and sometimes gets his information wrong.
Nothing to be taken as gospel, but if its your cup of tea its a decent suppliment to other imformation. He is as accurate and as wrong at times as all other "insiders."

Mystery Man is a funny way to put it. He has been known to "mistype" some things (names, stats, facts, grammar, etc.) Hell, some might describe this site the same as I tried to do with DD - mistakes with spelling, grammar, rumors, facts, crazy opinions, etc.
As far as what he looks like, he has his face at the top of the site and he periodically posts his family fishing trip pictures on the site.
I don't mind the guy. I check out his site daily for the most part and take it for what it's worth. He is a fan that started a site (hobby maybe that grew a bit?) that offers a free service - posting some rumors, articles, links, interviews, etc. He supposedly answers emails too. It is free, but he does ask for donations for what seems like 9 months straight. Every now and then i catch a humorous or interesting tidbit there. I have never met the guy, but he seems like a regular guy who loves LSU, fishing, recruiting, Louisiana, his family and the like.

You are really reaching here... If you ask for money you are begging. A homeless man asks for change and we call him a beggar.
That being said, like another poster said he does know a lot of high school coaches around the state and gets some good info as a result. I don't blame Dandy for the bad info most of the time though, it is his sources usually. The guy has the best intentions but can disappoint if you take it too seriously.

He's a huge tiger fan, with a few inside connections. He doesn't beg for money, he asks for donations, and only b/c he does a lot of leg work, like going to the practices, and reporting from the Bash.....ect. People seem to bash him b/c there are a few typo's here and there, and he gets the first names wrong on players sometimes. But no one on this board has ever proved (proved not claimed)themselves perfect.
I read his site every day, and find some the info intresting.

Good lord... we have some attorneys in the house. What is the difference? The man runs a 9 month online version of Jerry's Kid's. Asking for money by definition is begging. Not meant to be offensive but its the truth.
