As is the whole state of WV....the ski resorts on the far east side of the State in the National Forrest (Snow Shoe, etc.) are ok, but in September the leaves wont be turning yet and even that is slim to none in Morgantown. The best parts of the state are a 2-3 hour drive east to the middle of no where where the Mountains are. I lived there in 03 & 04 for work, I got out of that state as FAST as I could.
Best place to fly in for sure is Pitt, only an hour drive or fly into Morgantown for extra money and be right by the stadium. WV is no where near as pretty as the Smoky Mountains are in Gatlinburg.
The fans are obnoxious...worse than most SEC schools with zero titles to show for it. They all have a chip on their shoulder and the WV jokes make them all angry and bitter.
The stadium is small and the tailgating is just ok.

Hey, just giving my assesment, take it for what it's worth. To me it's not worth the road trip or the money to go to that game, rather travel to another SEC road game.

I lived in West Virginia, and I've visited more than half of its 55 counties, and it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, no matter what season.

I say after we beat the Mountaineers, we all drive to the New River Gorge Bridge and bungee jump off it.

Ahh Bridge Day...one of my only fond memories of WV, too bad its not until October, we could base jump off in purple and gold parachutes....

I agree with this. I love the SE part of the state. Beautiful mountains but not a lot to do there entertainment wise.

Been to 3 games in Morgantown over the last 2 years and its an awesome place to see a game. All of you who say otherwise are fools. Outside of OSU & UT (maybe Wisc.-and I havent been to Ore St but hear it gets nuts) no one comes as close to the SEC atmosphere as WVU. And don't try to flex nuts, i promise u no one on here travels to as many universities for games as I do. And Morgantown itself has been built up quite a bit over the last 2-3 years. Y'all want to make the trip, period. And if you can start the weekend early, go to the southern part of the state and raft/kayak the New or Gauley-best rivers East of the Mississippi, hands down

Yea, actually, the leaves will just begin to start changing. The weather will be fantastic, might even be a little hot. Also, there is a lot to do in WVA if you actually look around and find something to do. Some of the best white water rafting in the world is done in WVA and people from all over the world come over to ride these rapids in the fall. For people who don't really see mountains very often, I would think that some fans might want to try hiking and partaking in some of the natural beauty the state has to offer. Morgantown itself, is a shithole but that is expected. The rest of the state is actually quite nice.

Yeah if you like Goofy Golf, Go Karts and outlet mall shopping. I would take undeveloped Morgantown mountains over Sevier County TN any day of the week

I went to one game at Morgantown. Backyard Brawl 1989. WVU (with future Saint Renaldo Turnbull) led 32-9 after three quarters.

Final Score:
West Virginia 32
Pittsburgh 32

I was thinkning the same damn thing. You know they're "pumped" about heading down to the always scenic LA.

Exactly. I'm sitting here reading this thinking "do we really have room to talk about another place being a dump?"

Having lived in Texas and Colorado, I would officially label Louisiana and more importantly Baton Rouge as a "supreme dump" if I wasn't from here.

Horrible infrastructure planning which results in overly bad traffic, nothing to do outside of New Orleans really that you couldn't do anywhere else, flat landscape with a population of people that doesn't have enough pride to refrain from littering. Ahhh Louisiana...

I dunno. Two friends of mine are 'eer fans and they both have a tremendous respect for SEC football in general and LSU football in particular. The three of us agree the WVU-LSU match up is gonna rock. Yeah, I know, two people is less than a quorum, but these dudes are good people, as good of fans of their team as any of us are of the Tigers. As for being obnoxious, bitter and angry—well damn, that's what I like about those people. Gives you plenty to talk about when you're drinking with 'em.

I love Morgantown. Personally. Nice place with great people. Games are a lot of fun, especially when it's not cold out. Should be great.
