Starting to believe that Marcus is a late first rounder and if he has a good showing at the Portsmouth Invitational in Virginia, he will move up the board fairly quickly. Seems like a down year for the draft, outside of Blake Griffin and Hasheem Thabeet, which should bode well for Marcus chances. Outside of Jodie Meeks and the the guy from Arizona State, not many two guards in the country are close to Marcus. What do yall think?

I never thought he would make it, but I am beginning to come around. I would think a 2nd rounder but crazier things have happened

Marcus Thornton to the Hornets at the bottom of the first round?

Right now he's a projected early 2nd rounder...so it's possible he moves up to the late 1st

I would love to see Thornton in a Hornets jersey and i feel that whatever team gets him, he will suprise and crack their rotation. Could be a solid 6th man or seventh in the league. If he improves his defense and ball handling, Marcus could very well start at some point---similar to a Rodney Stuckey. The boy got the goods to make it and they have worse players in the league by far.

The average height of a starting NBA shooting guard is 6'-6". Most players under that average have phenomenal skills. His height will hurt him.

Too small.

Doesn't have the athleticism.

Best case scenario, he's a mid-late 2nd rounder.

People also thought Big baby was going to be bust and he still may be, but he hasn't did that bad so far.

Not a great ball handler, but a pure scorer...backup 2 guard.

6'4 is on the smaller side for a SG but there's plenty that size in the league. Meeks is 6'4.

Have you never seen him play? He has very good athleticism. He can dunk, take it top the hoop and draw contact...as well as shoot the 3.

He's a projected early/mid 2nd rounder as of right now...

As a 2nd rounder he;s definitely not a bust coming off the bench. Many 2nd rounders don't even make it in the league. The fact he got/gets decent playing time off the bench for one the best teams i nthe league means his pickup in the 2nd round was a great value.

Is he a legit 6'4" though? 6'4" is small for a NBA 2 and he's probably not even 6'4."

Not for a small 2 guard in the NBA.

I'll bet that he's lucky to get picked in the bottom half of the 2nd round.

He's a fantastic college player, but not a legit pro prospect.
