New Tiger Park a palace...

I did make it out to the new yard...and besides the occasional aroma of the cows in the air, that place is freaking awesome. There is still some window dressing left to be done, but it is incredible. Not a bad seat in the house. The berm looks like a fun place to hang out on a sunny day. The crowd is right on top of the field and that place will be intimidating for a big SEC series..or a regional. I was totally impressed. Honestly, too, being there tonight makes me even MORE fired up for the new Box.

I was sitting on the berm. That was pretty bad.

Rumor is they built it up out of shite. I don't think I would sit out there.

How was the view/atmosphere? (cow shite smell, aside)

This was the very first softball game I went to and I left after the 3rd inning so I could listen to the BB game. Forgot the portable radio I was going to bring.
View was ok I guess. The McNeese left fielder caught a tough flyball on the warning track right in front of us that was pretty cool. Atmosphere was ok, too. We sat in front of two older ladies who sounded like coaches. They were pretty into it. Like I said, hard to judge when its your very first game and you leave early.

I figured you would get a pretty good view from teh berm...since its only like 200 feet away. I couldn't get over how close the rest of the stands are to the field.

Why were there so many empty gold seats? Were those the "slightly more expensive" single game tickets?
Posted on 2/11/09 at 11:14 pm to geauxtigahs87
Season ticket holders...I was told that all of the gold seats were sold for the season. I hope it doesn't turn out to be like the old Box....where the gold seats are empty half the time while everyone else sits in the sucky seats.

Tiger Park must have caught the disease from the old Box.
The Gold seats are special seats that are just there for decoration. No one actually sits in them.
At least, that's what it seems like.

Bullseye.

That's insane then if so many season ticket holders don't come for the very first game in the stadium.

i'm almost positive all the gold chairback seats are season ticket holders.. a lot of the out of state players have family members that purchase them and can only attend weekend series..
to the students that went, did they scan?
i graduated last fall and was wondering if i can still milk my id

It was weird. They scanned our ID at one of the main entrances, then made us leave and re-enter at the berm seating where they didn't even check for tickets/ids.

glad they had the students in mind when they pushed in some dirt for seats

Hey, at least we got to sit next to the baseball team until they left after the 1st inning.

I have season tickets and the ones that were not filled are the big wheels that buy the tickets and never show up so they stay empty all the time. the place is great tho and will get better as they finish it. can't wait for the box to open also.

The only reason they scanned was because it was a points game. I think it'll be like the volleyball and soccer matches where you just flash the ID for a regular game.

so if you are a student you have to sit on the berm?
Posted on 2/12/09 at 1:00 am to Gtiger9757
No.
I asked where student seating was, and the "game marshal" told me that either of the two General Admission sections or the berm were fine.
