Missed free throws that could have iced it. May have been the front end of a one and one.

Transferred after that to James Madison playing for Lefty Driesel and made all-conference there.

Fess Irvin was embarassed by Florida's point guard during the season and he never regained his confidence after. Too bad because he had a lot of potential. It was sad to see.

Although Nakita Wilson did get a chance to take one of his lil' 'money' shots in the last second.

Fess Irvin transferred the next year.

How bout Anthony Wilson from Plaining Dealing Louisiana????

Nah. Not even close. Fess was much more hyped than Tac was. It's a shame the way his career at LSU played out, because by all accounts, he is a great individual.

Indiana got the questionable calls in the second half.

In my admittedly hazy memories, most of the calls weren't questionable at all--they were plain wrong. I seem to remember IU mauling LSU with the moving pick down low over and over again, just knocking the crap out of our defenders.

Saw Fess in the James Madison library after he transferred and chatted with him....good kid.

That Indiana loss was heartbreaking. I can still see Nikita Wilson's shot at the buzzer bouncing off the front of the rim.
