Fourth day of no smoking

And I'm pretty sure I'm about to go absolutely insane.

I've been smoking for about 6 years now, about a pack a day, and I just figured it was time to quit.

I can't think straight, I can't taste half the stuff I eat, and I find myself talking to my pet like it understands what the hell I'm going through.

Maybe cold turkey wasn't the best option, but the nicotine has already cleared my system by now, so why put more back in with patches?

Took me 4 cold turkey times to quit. Stick with it!

I quit back in 92 though. Yes, I am old. I do have an occasional social smoke but am trying to stop that.

it's like drinking (alcoholics), the thought is always there even if you blow a 0.000

I used to work at a cardiologist clinic and they would prescribe a drug called chantix to many of its patients because smoking is such a huge risk for heart disease. Anyways, my uncle started taking it and he said it was a hard drug to keep on with. Mainly because he would take it and wake up in the middle of the night and have strange hallucinations. He told me he woke up in the middle of the front yard one night.

I quit 4 years ago. Day 3 thru day 7 is tough.
Try chewing gum. Try to stay away from alcohol.
good luck.

The first week is the worst. I quit cold turkey also over 3 years ago. Bought a bag of dum dums(lollipops), tootsie roll pops and baby carrots. The dum dums and tootsie roll pops helped big time while I was driving and the baby carrots helped when I was at home. Good luck It is hard, but so worth it.

Quitting smoking on the day to day basis was not as hard as I thought, but drinking and not smoking... forget it man. I don't know that I'll ever be able to have a beer without lighting up.

<---------smoked a pack a day for 14 years

I wish I would have tried originally with some sort of plan.

I just woke up one morning and said, "I don't feel like paying for this stuff anymore."

Actually, I was just too lazy to walk the ten minutes to the store. And I was lazy for two days. So that turned into no more smoking.

Thats not because of the withdrawal, it because you're a fricking pussy. Aren't you the same a-hole that looked down on me because i got high before my physics final?

re: Fourth day of no smoking

I made it about a month or so last year. Just couldn't do it. Had a lot of @work stress at that time.

Now I'm trying to lose weight, so I'll stick with the cigs for now. After I lose about 30 lbs or so, I'll start working out and try to drop the smokes.

Good Luck to you!!

WEll, I would say that quitting smoking cigarettes is a bit more difficult than quitting pot. I would also say that you can tell from most of the responses in this thread that it is no walk in the park.

But, I guess I would look down on someone who bragged about getting high before a final. But, I'm not sure if it was me or not.
