From Dandy Don's morning report today he states he's hearing that Jarrett Lee will be transferring to a 1-AA school, most likely SFA or McNeese. Has anyone else heard this? It doesn't surprise me. I had joked/commented over the last couple of months that I thought he'd be better off at this point if he'd transfer to a 1-AA school. If for nothing else to help him turn the page/heal his psyche.

sounds possible. JJ is the man and I like both QB's coming into this recruiting class. One has tremendous athletic ability/accurate and the other has tremendous size/velocity.

Yeah, and besides the obvious that transferring would allow Lee a chance to play again. I don't see him climbing over Jefferson much less Shep going forward.

That wouldn't be a bad deal for him. Poor guy tried as hard as he could, but I think he was in over his head. With JJ stepping in so smoothly, and a knockout class coming in, his future at LSU doesn't look real rosy.

I hope if he does, its a good fit and he takes his school to the playoffs. That would be great.

I am personally against it. If JJ gets hurt in the spring, we will be in the same position as last year. We still need experienced depth. If he plays, I'll think of the Auburn game, not Georgia.

I realize RS is coming in, but we can't sit here and think he would be an effective passing QB on day 1.

I've heard that his father talked about such a thing. It's highly unlikely he'll get significant playing time from here on out at LSU with JJ and RS around, and the kid does have real potential that he can develop only with playing time. It would be interesting to see what he can do at that level.

Not that we have control over it, but this is dangerous thinking. We are one JJ sprained ankle away from being fricked.

SFA or McNeese

I was with SFA's OC while watching our bowl game. FWIW, he didn't mention anything about JL transferring to SFA then. I think SFA will be a good fit for JL as a drop back passes. SFA did set a record by attempting 83 passes in a game this year!

I'll call my guy up a little later in the day and get some more info on this possibility

I'm sick of the whole experience thing. The best man should play. JJ should start.. God forbid he gets injured I'll take RS (a guy who's played QB all his life) over a guy who didn't start playing the QB position till his junior year of HS and showed absolutely no signs of progress.

JL got almost a full season of experience and still looked bad. Also he had a year last year to learn the offense. Even if JJ gets hurt next year we will be better off putting in another QB than JL.

do you not understand that experience is a factor in determining who the "best man" is?

i wish Lee all the best. hes a 19 year old kid who juts got into a bad rut, but he did it in front of 100,000 people who screamed at him for it. im sure all he was thinking on most plays was "dont frick up, dont frick up, dont frick up..." and of course all you can do is frick up after that. hes a talented QB, he needs to start somewhere new, a place with no bad memories.
