Condon said he heard that from a reliable source....whatever that means.
I like Bennett. I think he had great defenses at K-State and now at Pitt. I would not be disappointed if we hired him. I kind of pull for him because his wife was tragically killed by a lightning strike and Bennett was raising the kids by himself.

I'm friends with Phil and his brother Jerry. Both good guys and coaches. I once asked Phil if he would like to come back to LSU. Yes he would if everything was right. I might make a call and see what I can find out. He is a great DC and would do us well. After one year at Pitt, he has done a great job with them.

FYI, three of the coaches on that staff are coaching Katy Taylor High School, Flint Risien, Larry Edmondson and Mark Miller.
I was at this game, the girl facing to camera wants to come to LSU. I had on an LSU shirt that night and a couple kids came up to me talking about attending.

Hey LSUDad that is some good stuff:
I believe it was Bill King on Rivals radio sometime last week or so, said that Phil Bennett was his choice for LSU's DC needs (If he could pick or give advise). At the time, I had no idea who he was talking about... I have since seen his name on here several times.
Looks to be a solid coach. I just found it interesting that King had thought it through and had Bennett plugged as a great hire for LSU
He also mention Chavis would be great as well
