Kevin Craft the QB from UCLA has thrown 7pick 6's this year. Last week he threw 3 in a single game. I like JL and hope he can recover from this year. But remember it could be worse.

ok, so it could always be worse. Thanks, but I'd like to stick with the QB who didnt throw any picks against Arky.

What disappointed me in Lee, was that he never improved. I think he is an excellent QB in the making, but he has to sit back and think about what he needs to do to improve. If I would have been Crowton I would have stood behind him at practice with a 2X4 and hit him in the head every time he stared down a receiver. I would have had his head on a swivel. He has the arm, but something is missing tween the ears.

hancheye, I do agree with this, he needs so good coaching, That is what did impress me about Jefferson. He went through his progression and made good throws.

but gave us no chance to win the game but not moving the ball in the second half after the early touchdown? in fact going three and in out and not giving the defense time to rest and gave arkie more time with the ball.

You may want to review the second half of the Arkansas game then edit your post to include "sometimes made good throws".

What was his completion percentage again? Is that good enough for winning football?

Dickson, Toliver, and Q. Johnson all dropped passes in the second half that hit them in both hands that would have moved the chains. That would have easily taken 4 minutes off the clock and LSU would have won.

That also would take away the now infamous below 50% completion percentage argument against JJ.

Lee sucked against poor competition as well. He threw pick sixes against good and poor competition alike. That's one of the reasons it is so disturbing. It is on him, not who he is playing against. It's just what he does.

Its also been a while since we have seen JL play. I think the short memory of these people is incredible. As for jefferson, he played the way a freshmen should play. He actually responded and grew from coaching on a week to week basis. Thats what will ultimately set jefferson apart from lee is that jefferson is improving weekly and lee is doing the same thing week after week.

I still feel Lee could be developed into a good QB. And yeah I was disappointed that the improvement wasn't there. I don't feel Lee will ever get a legit chance again though because JJ seems to fit for the offense we run.

from troy to ole miss to arkansas- you would be ignorant to not see progression.

neither JL or JJ was anywhere near ready to start this year , we all saw the result of this. anyone who thinks they can predict how either will look as jr's is delusional. RP fricked up the program , simple. now we wait and see with fingers crossed.

once again 6 quarters, which half you JJ lovers refuse to even consider... hell since we are on the discussion... how about JL progression from Ntx to auburn.?..far more impressive than OM (which we scored 13 points against 2nd worse defense,) to ark (which is worse defense) where we managed 63 yrds offense 4 first downs second half,, and 44 came on one scoring pass....dont kid yourself dude, both of these guys have a long ways to go.

Lee played against Georgia, Alabama, and Florida in the swamp.

I saw these stats posted on another board.

2008 QB rating:
118.4 -- Hatch
116.9 -- Lee
106.6 -- JJ

(Compare to Matt Mauck in 2002: 118.76)

2008 Completion Pct.
55.6% -- Hatch
53.2% -- Lee
41.7% -- JJ

(Compare to Matt Mauck in 2002: 48.5%)

2008 Interception Rate
JJ -- 1 per 48 attempts (1 in 48)
Hatch -- 1 per 45 attempts (1 in 45)
Lee -- 1 per 17 attempts (16 in 269)

(Compare to Matt Mauck in 2002: 1 per 65 attempts, 2 in 130)

Now cut to the chase and make your case. Looking good in the pocket vs probably the worst team in the SEC is not a viable reason for earning a starting role at QB.

JJ may very well earn the starting job by next season but so far it's difficult to prove, IMO.

true, but if it ever does click for JL he could be a great QB. It just looks like it's a long way off from happening for him. I'm not sure the pressure cooker of LSU has time or is the best place for that to happen. But maybe it will all come together for him in the off season and the spring and we will see a different JL next fall. I doubt that happens but hope that it does. JJ just looks way more game ready right now.
