I still use LIMEWIRE and have not problem WITH SOME PRECAUTIONS. I promote music events and sometimes DJ.
1)Do not down load the first file that comes up or that MATCHES your EXACT words..usually not a good file. 2)Make sure have have granted access to only the folder where you download the music to and that you created for that purpose only. 3)Do not downloaded any file that shows as already DOWNLOADED...specially if you know you have not. 4)No files under the normal song length. 5)No files under 4 stars.

If you ever want to download tv shows, they are uploaded on torrent sites usually 1 hour after they come on. DVDrips of movies can be downloaded within a day. Whole music albums can be downloaded usually within 10-20 mins. Tutorial
I usually use www.mininova.org to get the torrent files
