Has anybody heard about his status at UT with Fulmer's looming departure?
I think he could be retained by the new regime at UT, but he seems like he would be a good choice for any SEC team in need of a new D-coord (successful and knowledgeable of SEC offenses).
What ya think.

I have heard that he will be released if he doesn't deside to go coach with Fulmer. Noone has contacted Tennessee about him so far, but we don't really know.

He will follow Fulmer wherever he goes. They have been together for years.
Word is that Marshall is looking at Phil, he would most certainly bring Chief with him.
I wonder what kind of staff he would put together, will be interesting.

We need someone with SEC experience. Guy has been there and done that. We are not getting Tyrone Nix, Muschamp, Charlie Strong, etc. Why would they leave there school for the same position at another school.

Hope you like soft coverage. He did great when he had Haynesworth, L. Little and A. Wilson, but has been under fire lately. Biggest critisizm is that he plays the DBs anywhere from 8-13 yards of the WRs.

The only thing about Chavis and Fulmer being BFF is that Fulmer has stated he plans on taking a year off before he makes a decision either to get back into coaching or to join the UTAD administration. So Chavis might be available.
But as someone mentioned, prepare for the prevent defense when you are up with a couple of minutes to go in the game.

hell no. u dont want this guy.....would be the same hire as takin martinez from georgia....their defenses arent worth a schidt.
