Well, well, well. I went back through the posts and came across many fans talking shite about how JJ isn't ready and his passes were horrible, blah, blah, blah. These same posters go on to champion JL's ability and what he did in the 2nd half.
JJ is a TRUE frosh and mistakes are definitely acceptable. He DID score a TD and DID NOT throw a pick6! I like how some used this opportunity to say "I told you so" instead of really evaluating the kid. Seems as if some fans are so set on JL garnishing ALL the PT that they would rather JJ fail just to be right. It is no longer about the team but them being right.
JL is given leniency because he is a RS frosh but JJ making an appearance in a game as a TRUE fresh that has taken VERY few snaps with the starters is laughed at.
Some thought that JJ deserved SOME PT and they were right. The kid came in, scored a TD for US and did not turn the ball over. Who knows how much more improved he could have been if he had gotten MORE snaps in practice with the first team and more game time experience. He came in and sparked the offense as many thought he could. He actually done what was expected of him
JL did was expected of him, even the pick6. JL should start but JJ proved that he IS capable of running some plays and providing a change of pace. After all, he is ONLY A TRUE FROSH.

quote:Excuses go both ways. When JL is cut slack because he's so new, JJ deserves some slack too. I agree 100% that JJ should not start, but should definitely play the RP role the rest of the way to help the team, let JL see the game from the side and calm down at times, and gain the experience he needs to help improve the overall LSU QB position going forward.

When did this happen?

How many did he get? I wouldn't know because I don't attend LSU practices. JJ came in and didn't eff up, but don't give him the game ball just yet. He's getting his chance. Last I saw he was 1 of 6 passing. He got six chances that I know of. If he's the real deal, he'll win the starting job.

why did we roll him out left to throw against his body?
I didn't like that call too much

I didn't know that. That's not a very good call for a guy coming in with little experience.

JJ had 2 balls dropped and got hit while throwing another he should have been at 3 0f 6.
He threw a nice spiral and was on target, mitchell dropped one right in his hands and TT slipped.
I was very impressed with JJ I think he may , in the future, be as good as RP.
He can allso run the ball.
However I don't think he should start. He needs more time to learn the offense.

I thought that I stated " JJ should not start"! JJ scored a TD on a 4th and 3 run. That's big considering the guy has next to no real game time experience. I guess most were confused and thought that JJ could only succeed if he put up CRAZY numbers. JJ has proved he can run a f'ing series or 2 in a game. I think he scored LSU's 1st TD of the game.

JJ has proved he can run a f'ing series or 2 in a game vs. troy as long as he isn't forced to throw or make any crucial decisions and is only asked to take off and run
