I noticed there's a lot of newcomers to the game this weekend. I thought it might help to make a list of the "Best of BR"
Eating and Drinking (crowd age)
Friday night check out The Chimes near the north gates of LSU. It's a must.
The Varsity Theater is right next door and is packed on Friday nights before games (18-25).
Saturday pre and post game Walk-Ons is always packed but since it's an earlier game, pregame will be better spent checking out campus
For late night breakfast, Louie's is right around the corner from The Chimes and The Varsity behind Blockbuster.
Other than the Chimes, some other good Cajun restaurants are Parrains, Mike Anderson's, and there's a new Acme Oyster House on Perkin's Road. Juban's is very good but be $prepared$.
If you want some Cajun music & atmosphere, check out Boudreaux & Thibodeaux's downtown on 3rd street(21+). The Roux House & Happy's are a block away(21-30).
If you're looking for a chill spot and a glass of wine, The Wine Loft is right off 3rd on Laurel(25+).
It's not that close to campus (10 mins) but Perkins Rowe has a few Restaurants and Bars that are really nice. Sorry but the website ain't working
Fox and Hound has pool tables and a nice bar(25+)
If it's sushi you want, you gotta check out the view of the river at Tsunami. The sushi is Ok.
If you want a live band, nice steak, and beautiful girls, Sullivan's is great but pricey(25+).
GAMEDAY
You need to be near the top of the hill when the team walks down, followed shortly there after by Mike the Tiger and the Golden Band from Tigerland. If you miss this, especially the band, you've missed the essence of LSU pregame. There will be an itinerary on dandydon.com by thursday or friday of exactly when everything will take place.
Gameday Parking Map. RV Lots are B and Touchdown village. the quality of the picture is terrible, I'll try to find another. As far as I've seen, the best free parking spot is the Kirby Smith parking lot. It's a short walk to the Indian Mound area. Then when leaving, it's easy as hell to get to I-10.

NOTE:
This is not UF, our main tailgating doesn't take place in our bars
This is not Ole Miss, we don't spend precious drinking time trying to out do our neighbors tailgate with frilly bullshite.
This is not Auburn, we start way before 2:00
THIS IS LSU, WE DO IT BETTER THAN ANYBODY!!!
I'll post more as I think of things. The rest of you feel free to add to the list
Last...can i get a sticky icky?

Don't expect good sushi at Tsunami's though. It has too much rice, but you pay for the view.
If you're a big spender then definately try Juban's, on Perkins Rd, near Acadian/LSU Ave. It's a great upscale French-creole restaurant. The Chimes is a staple in Baton Rouge, but be prepared to wait. DeAngelo's pizzaria is a good place to get a quality, but modestly priced calzone, too.
Bars: Older crowd would like Fox and Hound. The younger crowd would probably enjoy going downtown to 3rd street.

The staff there would not tell me where the bathroom was and treated me like I haven't been treated since I was in Mississippi. They led me to the women's bathroom, which the writing was very non-descript and I walked in.. doh. Then the girls wear tacky ripped up blue jean shorts and give really bad service.
How drunk were you?

Club Shenanigans on Saturday night is a must

There was confusion because before I asked them where the women's bathroom was and they scoffed at me and pointed down the hall, then my daughter said it was the wrong bathroom (the bouncer didn't listen to me well enough to hear me say "women's" -.. Which is why I asked the guy again when I had to use the bathroom. I admit i was pretty hammered, but they didn't have a sign up and I've never walked into a women's bathroom before, for any reason. it was some painted thing that wasnt clear but i noticed the next week i stopped by to visit a coworker and it was fixed. I was just amazed at what jerks those 19 year old male employees were.

Also good is Pinetta's - medium priced Italian food but is as good as more expensive places.
If you had to only go to one place to eat in BR, though, having never eaten there before - The Chimes is the way to go. If you want to eat there on game day make sure to get there about 3-4 hours before kickoff as it will take about 1-2 hours to get a table. Service is surprisingly fast on gameday once you get the table. About a 15 minute walk to TS from there. Also, a ton of beer taps to choose from while you wait for your table, and TV's with the other games on.

The best recommendation would be to go by the Perkins overpass on Friday night. Many places within walking distance of each other:
Ivar's: sports bar
Chelsea's Cafe: live music
Duvics: strong drinks and martinis
Di Gulio Brothers: great Italian
Acme Oyster Bar: good poboys and raw oysters
Parrain's: pretty good seafood spot
Zippy's: bad mexican food but great frozen drinks(must try a frozen boubon & coke)
Sammy's on Highland is great for cheaper seafood.
TJ Ribs: Good ribs and good LSU decor.
Chelsea's Cafe has great live music and pretty good food too.
Di Guilio Brothers has great Italian. Prepare to wait though.
Chimes for Sunday brunch.
Serranno's or the varsity after the game

Never at at Acme's in BR, but if it is as good as the one in New Orleans, its worth the visit.

Wow, I have been to several of those restaurants...I have attended LSU Graduate School of Banking three two-week stretches. Thought BAton Rouge was a lot of fun, although we were never there while school was going on.
Question about a restaurant...we went to a restaurant called Sammy's located out of town a bit. IS that place still open?
