You absolutely can't beat Mike Anderson's for a dozen raw. Everything is great. Bob Brunet's is the shite too. Anybody tried the 6 or 8 ounce beers at the City Cafe'? City has the best crawfish, of course when in season.

Just saw this. Great thread and super helpful.
Some friends and I go to one big game each year and this year its UGA@LSU. I'm looking forward to you guys topping the show Knoxville put on two years ago when they lost to Florida. :)
Two key questions.
1. Is there an area where people will be congregating for overnight tailgating.
2. Is there an optimal tailgate area for us to knock around if we are looking for food and drink (we'll be happy to contribute to the F&B fund of whoever donates to our cause, we aren't looking for freebies).
Thanks and Geaux Tigers!

Go to Albasha if you want good hummus and shawarma.

quote:Most of the night before tailgating happens in the RV lots. Most, but not all, people who set up around campus, put their stuff out, leave it there and come back bright and early. The others just stay there and get shitty!! I know Lot B is and RV lot, but the main RV lot is called Touchdown Village. i posted a link on the 1st Post in the thread

If you go to Louie's be prepared to be able to shite through a screen door without touching the screen. It's good drunk food, but other than that I wouldn't go there. Usually an entertaining crowd though.
For food, try some of the RV's near the stadium on South Stadium Drive. My favorite RV there is one of the more "beaten down" RV's. It's an older one and has a tiger on the top of it. They are on a corner of an entrance to the parking lot before the Easy Streets booths. The RV's on S. Stadium Drive are usually tailgating groups and members only, but they are very nice, always have music, and if you donated to their F&B fund they would more than likely hand you some food.
Also, the cops in that area are pretty cool as long as you aren't a tool. I'm under 21 and have been tailgating there for 2 years and have never gotten an MIP/citation or anything. Hell, half the time I'm talking to the police and shootin' the shite with them while I'm drinkin' a beer.
Have fun while y'all are here and GEAUX TIGERS!

What's the current name of the bar on 3rd St. that was "Rip's Huddle" during the 60's?
Is it open now? If so, how does it rate?
I beleive there's a restaurant in the front that steps down to the louge.

Good post and thanks for taking the time to do that. As usual, the old ladies on here are quick to point out "what should have been on there". It's your opinion.
