Dallas media hype

I can't and never will understand the media's obsession with the Dallas Cowboys...what makes them so special? if they are the so called "Amarica's Team" what makes them so American or ever likeable?
I can understand how in the 90s they were the team of the decade and were loaded with superstars, but no body on the team within the last 8 years comes even close to the talent that that was on the previous Super Bowl teams.
If anything, the Cowboys are an embarrasemant to America and their players and owner are always on the news or tv for the wrong reasons, i.e. T.O/selfishness, pacman/strippers/booze, Romo/Jessica Simpson and even in the past with Switzer/guns, Irvine/cocaine.
Its come to a point that espn devotes half its headlines to them and it disgusts me. America deserves better

I hate the damn Cowgirls!!
Even though the Saints loss, I was happy to see the girls get their asses handed to them by the RAMS!!
On top of that, T.O. was pissed and already yelling at the new QB.

The only thing that made Sunday bearable for me was the Cowboys getting whipped. I hate the Cowboys!

The Cowboys have been my team since watching Roger S. do his 4th Q.magic in the late 70s.Now I guess its like the same thing with Southern Cali(USC)is to college.I was thinking WTF after the 3-0 start and the news(espn)took it upon themselves to anoint them SBChamps already.But the head coach is a puppet and its all downhill after his 1st year.Anyway reporters must get paid xtra for a story on the Dallas Cowboys or the demise of.

Some of you need to realize that the Cowboys have always been very open and receptive to the media, which many teams steer clear from. That's why they get all the type of attention they do. Sure you may not like it, but it's just part of how the popularity of the franchise ensued.

Not sure where you live but try living over here in Dallas. It is even worse.
But it is greatness when they lose , because the whole town seems to go into depression.
Except us NON-Cowboys fans living here. I love when they lose....and like this week.....lose badly.

If I had to guess, I would say that you are under 30. Right? You don't remember the 70s and don't understand the people who do. Look at the post re Roger Staubach. He is a legend in this town; more loved by far than the likes of Terry Bradshaw or even Troy Aikman.
It is difficult to explain, kind of like trying to explain what we did when there were no computers, no cell phones, no VCRs. It was different and you're not going to change the minds of the fans who have been entrenched with America's team for that long.

1. Because the Boys have more fans in more markets than any other NFL Team.
2. AND....The Boys have more fans who hate them.
Just the fact y'all are hoping for a TO melt down and a Cowboy loss means the media will continue to cover them.
My guess is y'all haters will have plenty to cheer about in the next few weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't make the playoffs.
