I have had enough of Payton. Throw the fricking ball on 4th and short and learn how and when to challenge a play. He has cost the Saints this game wtih his shitty play calling and misuse of the challenge.
Besides his first year I have not been impressed with Payton. He can not draft and every free agent he has brought in except Vilma is a dud.

How about Drew Brees?
Gay won a super bowl as a starting DB for the Patriots
Now from the Draft: Reggie, Coltson (another horrible pick), Roman Harper, Jahri Evans, Ellis, Porter, and Nicks.
He has had 1 bad draft and 2 stellar drafts

10-13 the last two seasons. God, it doesn't seem like that but when I look back at it, wow, its true. Its amazing that with such an offensive powerhouse, we are a below average team. I don't know what to say anymore.

Brees could be the best FA pickup in the history of the league, Vilma was a great pickup as well. However, that doesn't explain the other shite moves. I don't care who you have, if you can't win you can't win.
His man crush on Reggie is costing us. Duce has been conspicously absent in big plays and series but is the same guy on other plays. He gets the tough yards over and over. When there's nothing he still moves the pile. Shockey has about a dozen catches, two fumbles,and is probaby out again.

i don't know how much influence payton has, but you can't really give him any credit for brees

reggie is good
evans is good
harper is ok
porter is ok
nicks is an unknown
and i still think they went the wrong route for a DT, personally. not that i don't like ellis

Payton was hired in mid January
Brees was signed in March
Payton deserves at least a little credit for that

If you read my original post again I was omitting his first year. Alot of coaches do well the first year and then fall off when game film can be studied and tendencies learned.

I also failed to mention how Payton has totally f*$ked up the kicking game. He had John Carney who was money from 45 yards or closer, but b/c he could not kick it in the endzone on kickoffs he trades for a washed up O. Marre (sp?) who doesn't amount to shite and the he brings in another washed up kicker in M Gramatica (sp?). If we still have Carney instead of the other two you could add 2 wins to this years record and a few others to last years record.

say what you will about the playcalling, but I believe he should have won that "down by contact" challenge. The guy ran into colston and fell down, how is that not down by contact?
