here are some observations from a lifetime (hardcore) Tiger fan (BR native) living in Charlotte for the past 10 years.

1) the music blaring over the loudspeakers at Williams Brice is about the coolest thing i have heard in a football stadium. the place was rockin' for no other reason. not particularly "Loud", just SUPER high-energy. Tiger Stadium could use some of that. From what i gathered, it's about the only thing they've got there that we might want.

2) Columbia is pretty much a dump. Makes the drive from Port Allen to Tiger Stadium via River Road look like the Champs E'lysee.

3) If there is ONE thing possibly evident from the stands that may have been less so on Television, it is the extreme level of general confusion and disorganization on the field shown by LSU. I understand there will be check-offs. I understand the guys need to make adjustments. I understand that football is a complex game. What i don't understand is an offensive coaching staff making things SO incredibly complex for such a young group of guys that half the time they DO NOT KNOW where to line up, who to block or which route to run.

Yes this is 2008. Yes, Gary Crowton is an X and O genius (i think), but i gotta say...our offense sure looked gimmicky at times. Something is wrong when you have to run a triple misdirection double fake statue of liberty BS to produce a 3 yard off-tackle gain. It simply introduces too much opportunity for error.

I don't know if you guys could see it on the Television, all 4 receivers looking at each other, the coach, back to each other, the quarterback, pointing, shifting, changing sides of the field....before almost EVERY PLAY. it was insane. KISS!

if we ever pipe in music for a game, i will we have tradition at lsu, unlike the teams that:

1- play star wars
2- play iron man (with that stupid espn ending)
3- pipe in music

and last, but not least, what the hell is a fried pepsi?

Having the whole offensive line, the QB, and the WRs all look over to the sidelines to get adjustments, etc, is not confusion......I certainly like the way Crowton has handled the LSU offense since he was hired.......if you want confusion on offense, then look at Florida State

I agree when i hear zombie nation the first thing i think of is where the hell is the band. College football is about tradition, not a rave.

well we would not have to do all that if lee could get settled in, not throw ints, and recievers would catch the ball. Besides misdirection is a staple of the spread.

Forgive me but I was not under the impression that we ran "the spread". We run a few options but for the most part we are an "I" formation team.

with regard to my Tiger game attendance...the answer is "at least 3 games per year at home, all SEC championship games, AT Florida, AT AUBURN, AT ALABAMA, AT GEORGIA, BOTH BCS games in N.O., all Peach Bowls, ALL Sugar Bowls (including NEBRASKA), etc etc. I've served my time, been around the block and know what i am talking about. but i AM new HERE, so your rebuttal is fair.

I most certainly agree that you are not going to EVER beat Hey Baby and the Tiger Band..DAH, DAH DAH DAH! (ashamedly, i do not know what that song is called, although i know every note). That said, assuming i AM qualified to be called a Tiger Fan, the music in Columbia was not the typical bullcrap whoop whoop trash they play at the friggin NBA games. It was well done, was well timed, and in certain situations, REALLY injected some serious energy into the crowd.

fair enough. to each his own i suppose on the music.

but are we also in disagreement that the offense was at times seriously disorganized last night, and has been for much of the year?

The "DAH, DAH DAH DAH" you refer to is Hold That Tiger! USC has been playing the 2001 Odyssey intro for some time now.....guess they have added to this mix by plugging in some additional high energy music.....whatever works for them.......I just don't see it for T.S.

so you'd rather runs for -1 to 1 yard gains like against UF?

perhaps its gimicky compared to a bland offense, but they are trying to use the strengths of the talent they have, trying to have as many chip in as possible(tesm), and trying to keep it loose and fun for the guys, which is important. Keeping it wide open also appeals to recruits.

I thought WB was a VERY nice venue. The Cock crowd was loud but faded as the game got tight. We went to the Ale house and it was pretty cool. All the fans were nice to us but they didn't expect to win. I thought it was a little lame that they left when we got the ball back with 4 mins left. a W is a W.

okee dokee. apparently all is well in Tiger nation.

with ONE solid half of football, we are FINALLY on our way, right?

HOW many penalties did we have last night? 9
HOW many were illegal formation/motion/delay of game? all but two if i remember correctly?

so we are good with that kind of mistake prone football? you guys need to get a grip. i've never seen a team so unsettled before snapping the ball. but if you are telling me i am outright deluded...????????
