The guy is 6'1" and can run a 4.33 40. Looks good to be a second KR along with Pierre Thomas. What had Copper done anyway even with all the injuries we had? He was behind 5 other receivers on the depth chart and has only returned 2 kicks.
Most likely this is just a one or two week signing, if Copper is still available if one of our receivers goes down then he will be brought back. I think Payton might be giving Copper a chance to actually play somewhere else instead of just 6th on our depth chart.
Also the best news of this signing is that a tight end was cut......that should mean that Shockey is ready to return.
