got college scholarships out of HS while you were there?

from my 9th grade year to SR year, I counted roughly 50 players...i count guys that my SR were starters on the actual team, even if they were younger than me.

Not counting walkons.

who were the 5 best players at your HS from that period while you were there?

for me it was probably

RB Michael Burks(Auburn)
QB Daris Wilson(Bucknell)
RB Derron Parquet(LSU)
DT Bennie Mills(Florida)
RB/CB Terrence Dunbar(ARK St)

hard to keep Craig Steltz out of there, but he was only a SOPH when i graduated and i think he was actualy injured most of that year.

other notables

KEvin Steltz(LSU)
Mario Loicano(Kan St)
Nick Child(LSU)
Garret Wibel(LSU)
Lamar Mills (Kentucky)
Keith Chatelain(Kentucky)
Brandon Dabdoub(Colorado)
Nader Abdallah(Ohio St)

well not really notable, cause most never did much at the college level, but they were awesome HS players

Darien Whetstone-Bama
John Ghoulsby-Bama
Brad Snellgrove- GaTech
Buddy Harman- Indiana
Stan White- NCstate
There have been a ton of players from my school go on to college and pros in football. The first would have to have been Bart Starr. I know there were more from my grad..class but I cant recall any more at this time.

we had several but only to Monroe, Northwestern, or USL.

John Tudor played some guard in hoops at LSU but was many years before my time.

we've had quite a few get scholarships (not 50). The best from my school so far are:
1. Stephen Gostkowski, K- Memphis (now kicking for the New England Patriots)
2. Chris Spencer, C- Ole Miss (starting center for Seattle Seahawks)
3. Parys Harralson, LB- Tennesse (plays for San Francisco 49ers)
4. Mike Espy, WR- Ole Miss (on Washington Redskins practice squad last I saw)
5. Doug Buckles, OL- Ole Miss (was signed as undrafted free agent by Tampa Bay Bucs; last man cut to get down to roster limit)

not too bad for a school thats only 15 or so years old

2
-Olaniyi Sobomehin- went to Portland State and started for the Saints at FB a couple weeks ago
-Andiel Brown- Returned kickoffs for Oregon

My high school was also historically the worst large school football-wise in Oregon so that doesn't lend itself to college recurits on both fronts.

That I know of:

Robert Felton (Arkansas O-line star from '04-'07)

I throw in this guy:

BJ Symons (Texas Tech QB, record breaker)

But Symons graduated the yr before I entered the high school, so it's a stretch.

RB Michael Burks(Auburn)

Hey Lester, Michael came in the other week to pick up copies of his highlight tape. He's working out again trying to play ball again. He's still a monster. A little more spiritual now. Fwiw.
