Bringing drinks into Ben Hill Griffin?

Is it as easy as getting stuff into Tiger Stadium?

Last time I was there cops would pop out of the portals and randomly pick people and ask to smell their cups. Watched a few get hauled out for just that reason alone.

IF you plan on entering the stadium in purple and gold, I would be pretty cautious. Also, you can't just walk around their campus and drink like you can at LSU.

you can barely sneak the shite around outside the damn stadium
gainesville cops will be tiger hunting, bet on it

I remember seeing that as well now that you mention it.

Yeah, you are better off staying right around your tailgate area/car or going into a bar.

Actually, I think it's that you can drink on campus. Just don't step over that little wall along the sidewalk to cross the street with an open container. Especially if it's obvious that you are drinking.

its alot harder esp being a visting fan cops are more likely to dick you over for the hell of it.
uf is a bitch all the way about trying to drink.

Not true. The Gainsville PD are equal opportunity douche bags. I watched them write a guy a ticket for open container 2 blocks from the stadium. He walked across the street from his front yard to his neighbor's and got popped.

LSU fans are more heavily targeted and ive even heard the GPD admit it

The rule to abide by is simple. If you are of legal age, which I'm assuming most of you are, just make sure you are only drinking AT a tailgate. Don't walk down the street with a can of beer and you'll be fine. If you want to take that risk, you can, but if a cop sees you, you'll likely get a written arrest. But they won't bother you if you're at a tailgate (no matter what colors you're wearing).
As far as getting it into the stadium, it isn't too hard. We bring things in all the time. If you're a guy, usually they won't even touch you. Sometimes they will, but they'll just pat down the sides of your pants or something. If you're concerned, just put your flask/bottle/etc in somewhere where you know the cops won't touch... like your arse. Just put your goods between your wallet and your arse and you're set.
Just be careful whipping out liquor in the stadium because if someone spots you, you'll get kicked out. But if you are discreet, you're good.
Any more questions feel free to ask.

Be Careful, we had an usher come down and carry on a pleasant conversation with us about 5-10 minutes, then, Hey, what's in your cup? Wife had, I mean, not even a swallow left and I had a sip left in my flask and we got the boot in the second quarter. Not like at LSU and they just make you pour it out!!! Needless to say, we watched the second half at the Purple Porpoise!!

Two years ago, I poured the rest of what was left of my handle of Jack into a water bottle, stuck it in my waistband, and walked right in. Before I had a chance to pour it, I saw cops in my section checking people's drinks, so I removed the bottle and put it near my feet, but off to the side. The cops walked right past me, stopped, and saw it. They questioned me and of course I denied that it was mine. One cop made a comment to me that I drove a long way to go to jail before the game even started. They then parked their butts 5 rows above me and watched me the rest of the game. I am not college aged, but was a little intoxicated, but not to the point that it was obvious. The cops there have alcohol radar. DO NOT SNEAK ALCOHOL INTO BEN HILL GRIFFIN!

Don't even think about bringing alcohol into stadium. You will get to watch the second half from a 13" tv in the Alachua County lockup while on the phone trying to get a bonded out in time to get back with your group before they leave you in Gainsville. I speak from experience. No one but LSU fans were arrested.

last time i went there, i had a friend and saw multiple others being taken out. the cops were swarming around the visiting section and not even caring about the home section. i wouldn't recommend bringing anything to the game unless you don't mind possibly missing the game in a jail cell.

I can testify to BAD's statement. I bought a coke and didn't even have a chance to pour the bourbon in to it. (flask was on the ground under the seat) Florida fans ratted us out in the 1st qtr. I told the cop it was just coke and he knocked it out of my hand and told me he couldn't smell it on the ground. I spent the night in Alachua County lockup. The thing about it, I was cooperative. I ended up spending almost the whole night in the cell, while my friends waited for them to let me out after they posted bail. I ended up calling the DA and arranged paying a donation for $25 to Black on Black Crime and they agreed to dismiss charges. Florida can rot in hell for all I'm concerned. It was nothing but LSU fans and a quarter of them were fairly sober.

how are they on underagers at tailgates
Posted on 10/8/08 at 1:50 pm to lsufball19
Yeah they are pretty bad at just looking for visiting fans, particularly LSU fans, its just the rep ya'll carry.
06 I was at the LSU/UF game, cops walking by saw me take a swig out of my cell phone flask (brilliant). They gave me a "no no no" finger, and proceeded to the LSU section above me.
Unfair I agree.
