My understanding is that you can move to and from Div 1-A (FBS) & Div I-AA (FCS) w/o loss of eligibility. So if that premise is true, Perrilloux could transfer immediately back to a Div 1-A school after this season (if any school would take him).

How diabollically evil and how great would be the melt down of this board if Satan himself offered RP another chance next year?

Outlandish sure... but consider:

Pros:
-Satan did take back Ricky Williams when in Miami even after the ganja man had competely left the Dolphins organization "high" & dry
-RP is currently enrolled in a school in Alabama

Cons:
-RP was not committed to LSU when Satan was here
-I honestly believe that RP still respects Miles and doesn't hold a grudge against LSU

could some other Div 1-A school take a chance?

I think this only applies if you are not on scholarship at the I-AA school.

Pretty sure it doesn't work this way.

Players looking to transfer without having to sit on their butt for a year always go the JUCO route (eg, Chris Todd, Brent Schaeffer, etc).

Not true. You can drop down (D-I to I-AA or I-AA down to D-II) without losing eligibility.

If you try and go up a division, you'll lose a year of eligibility.

If you want to transfer from a D-I to another D-I, you'll have to either sit out a year or go the JUCO route.

Players have 5 years to get in 4 years of eligibility.

2 things:

1) you can't move back up without sitting out a year

2) RyanP came here because of Miles, not Saban.

Miami wasn't ranked number two in the NFL at the time.
