Great place for trout in Baffin. 90% of my fishing is done there. The little creek is where I catch monster reds during big rains.

It's pretty windy at the moment, which is typical for April. But still not bad. However, these big rains are making it awesome for big reds in the brackish water.....

Do the trout spawn earlier down there than around here? They spawn in late April through May here.

Late summer produces some pretty big trout. They have pulled some 30 inch trout early in the year, but brown tide is making things tough at the moment. Spawn is usually around the same time frame.

I've never weighed one either but I have sight casted a few in the 27 inch range, one might have gone closer to 30 inches.

You caught a 30 inch trout and didn't weigh it?

Damn, where are you fishing? I've probably caught at least a dozen trout over 3 lbs besides the monsters that one day.

On a side note, the day we caught those 12 fish, I watched a couple of guys in a boat near us lose at least 5 or 6 trout over 4 lbs. at the boat because they forgot a net. The guy jokingly offered us a hundred bucks to buy our net. The friend of the boat owner would dog cuss the owner everytime he lost one for forgetting the net.

If it were me, I would have lipped those snaggle tooth monsters.

Back in '87 my dad and a couple buddies caught 4 trout in lake Ponchartrain. Weights went 1 at 10lbs, 1 at 9, and 2 at 8lbs. Funny thing is they never mounted them. All were cleaned and into the grease. I'll never forget that trip. He usually pulled me out of school, but not that trip. When he got home with the boat and I saw the fish I started crying lol. Was so mad. I had just turned 30. Jk, I was 13.
