I enjoy just reading about someone killing a nest of these bastards...easily my least favorite creature on the planet...
just a couple of weeks ago I poured a coffee can of gas down a yellow jacket hole in a relative's yard near ellick....never saw a single one come out...

I had an LSU entomologist tell me this and he said he learned the hard way, yellow jackets often cut 2 holes. If you start treating 1, they fly out the other. Just something to keep in mind.

I killed a big nest by pouring a couple gallons of ammonia in it

Killed a nest last week, was under a pallet of masonry stones that I wasn't going to be able to move, and couldn't get close enough to pour directly.
I had a Spill Stop Tube tube laying around, so I made an extention with more clear tubing, so I was able to fish the tube under the pallet and into the hole. Had a couple quarts of gas ready and let em have it. I've seen some locust going in and out of the hole the past few days, its gratifying.

quote:Zero activity this morning. I was brave enough to pull back some branches and I found the entrance. They actually built up a tube-like structure along one of the branches. If I did not kill them all, next assault will be so much easier and I'll use the foaming stuff instead of another round of Viper. I will be shocked if this one application did it, as the web advice I read suggested it would not.
Update tomorrow!!!

They ain't gonna come out with gas.
They die instantly. It's awesome.
Give me snakes over creatures that fly and sting!
