Would spring teal season be a success

I have been seeing tons of teal around, would anyone here trade a few teal season days in the Fall for a few in the spring?
If that were even possible is there a conservation reason for that to be a bad idea?
I personally would love a few days to shoot some full plumage Spring real

I believe it's not allowed bc the teal you are seeing are headed north as pairs to breed... Not that it hasn't crossed my mind before

Breeding pairs. If they made it that far, just let them be.
I enjoyed bird watching during February in Delacroix. Teal were like gnats

Farmers are allowed to shoot them! They are "supposed" to leave them laying there ........

Are they really? I never knew that

No. Shooting birds returning to their nesting sites could put them under too much stress, which could affect their breeding.

This. I used to love fishing at my uncle's duck camp in Gum Cove during the spring simply to watch the birds.

There are me pretty blue wings, shovelers, mallards etc. in this NWLA backwater right now.

It would be yet another reason I could not fish Spring Bayou in the mornings, so, no.

theres a place we usually see a lot of birds down there. I brought binoculars are trolled up to the marsh grass. When I peaked my head up, I saw well over 500 teal with scaup grays, mottled and redheads mixed in. Stopped fishing for 15 minutes just to watch.
It's how I imagine it must look on the breeding grounds.

On the surface it seems a dead duck in September is going to produce as many ducklings as a dead one in March.
