My lab was bitten by a water moccasin and had two small bite marks on his foot. He didn't yelp or cry out but I could tell he was in pain. Probably over exaggerated but took my dog to vet and they gave him anti venom and some antibiotics Labor Day weekend. Very expensive bill but I thought I did the right thing.

Going forward I probably wouldn't take him to the vet unless it was a rattlesnake or he was in bad shape. I've heard too many stories of labs or larger dogs being perfectly fine after a copperhead or moccasin bite.

Good luck to you and your dog!
