AK-47s are supposed to be indestructible and all that. Would you shoot any of the non brass cased ammo? I had a friend who did with his AR and now he has a bunch of Wolf .223 sitting in his gun safe. Said he would not suggest using

Thoughts?

AKs are meant to shoot steel case ammo. ARs are a different story.

Why? The amount of money saved will more than pay for a new barrel, if you ever need a new one. We are talking 15k rounds of steel vs 18k rounds of brass lifespan of a barrel.

AK-47's were designed to shoot steel cased ammo. Shoot the cheapest stuff you can find out of an AK.

The study I've seen has the chrome lined barrel completely shot by 6,000 rounds using the Russian steel cased bi-Metal

So the amount of money you save after shooting 6000 rounds of steel will pay for 3 brand new barrels. I don't see the problem

Some get it, others are Uber operator contractors that only shoot the finest through their Bushmaster ARs.

I've shot the wolf 40 caliber rounds thru my Beretta 96 and the coating on the steel case melted, built up, and caused a case to stick in the barrel. It was after quite a few rounds went down range.

That ammo is trash. It'll destroy his AR barrel within a couple dozen rounds fired. Give me his number and I'll dispose of it properly for him.

Pardon my ignorance here. But a chrome lined barrel? What is the point of that?
