The woods seem quieter than normal for some reason. No birds sounds that day. No squirrel movement. It's as if everything but deer said, we are sitting this one out.

This till one hears trees popping. If it snows or ice, do be careful of falling trees and branches.

Experienced that in Tensas in the mid 80s. Looking back, that wasn't too smart of us. OTOH, most deer I've ever seen in one hunt.

Saw it on my phone weather app yesterday, but it looks like they are backing off. NWLA fwiw.

It first said 58% chance of 1-3". Now it's saying 30% with no accumulation.

And i think that sucks. I need at least one snow day per year. But thats about my max.

Says 38% less than 1" accumulation in Shreveport as of today.

I think it'll be a wet ice storm if anything. Rain, and go to freezing about dark.

We hunt in Wilcox County, Alabama, which is on the line for potential snow storms. My two boys are dying to go hunting in the snow, so we are watching this carefully!

im 33 and have made a handfull of snow hunts here in mississippi. A couple when it snowed 6-8" and me, my friends, and others have NEVER seen a deer in the snow. Not one single time. Had a coyote once, thats it. Its like deer here dont know what it is and lay up.

I hunted in NE Arkansas a couple of times in winter precipitation.

One of the coldest though was after a front when it cleared out and really dropped. I think it was 16 degrees. I waded out to set some decoys and when I got back in the blind my boots froze to the floor of the blind within seconds.

Nothing you couldn't rip loose, but if you sat your feet still for a minute or so, they'd stick again. I think the high that day was 21.
