I had to buy fish today for the first time in as long as I can remember. Between the oil spill and new baby I haven't been able to fish as much as I usually do.

I agree, saltwater fish is much better in my opinion. Just way more variety.

East is a beast, West is the best

Honestly, it really depends on location and closeness to the rivers. In the marsh, you just find a bank that the wind is blowing into and the bait fish will piled up on that bank, to me it doesnt matter where the wind is coming from, as long as the water is moving and It's somewhat clear..I will catch fish.

I think snapper is probably the best eating fish.

Yep, snapper would probably be at the top of my list. Yellow edge grouper is one of my favorites also. There are so many good salt water fish:

Triggerfish
Lemonfish
Red Snapper
Black Snapper/ Mangrove Snapper
Yellowedge Grouper- my favorite grouper
Black Grouper
Scamp Grouper
Yellowfin Tuna
Mahi
Amberjack
Tripletail
Pompano
Redfish
Speckle Trout
White Trout
Flounder

I grew up eating fish so I like them all pretty much. Only fish I am not crazy about is wahoo, escolar, any oil fish (mackeral), and other trash fish (bonita, hard heads, hard tails, bluefish, etc.)

East vs west wind
it's all relative to where u fish... East wind is good in some areas and west wind is great in others... North and south also have their benefits... It's knowing how to adjust that counts

in north America and specifically LA east winds usually means you are post frontal. The wind direction has less to do with it than the pressure change and the crystal clear skies.

IMHO

Pre frontal (west or north west wind) is money though.

i know salt water fish fight harder, but IMO fresh water fish as a whole are much better eating

How's the weather over there in Opposite Land?

Dude, you should see some of the catfish I've pulled out of the Potomac. I wouldn't eat that shite if my life depended on it, and it probably would.
