At some point, I'll probably give up on the idea of a La. lease and just spend that money on a travel trip every here. I just like horns anyway.

More power to you but I couldn't do that. I like being able to go hunting anytime I want even if I see nothing.

Exactly. For the price of a lease you could make several quality hunts elsewhere. Kinda the way I'm looking at duck season this year.

Oh, i understand that, and was there once. The older I get, the less I want something like that. It goes in cycles for me. Right now, it's fishing. Once, it was golf. It will change again.

I think the 4 point on one side rule for the entire state is a huge factor in the quality of bucks up there. I wish louisiana would do a statewide minimum buck restriction.
absolutely 100% agree

I love that rule. I do like MS's rule on beam/spread length but I rather the 4pts on one side

This big time and especially on WMAs or at least certain one.

We don't shoot enough does every year on our lease according to the DMAP biologist, and we have the crappy bucks to prove it. I do however agree with better buck regulations statewide

My family has land in southern Missouri, bordering Mark Twain National Forest. The deer aren't quite as big as in northern parts of the state, but they've still taken several trophy deer. All the men in my family went last weekend.

Missouri's Dept of Conservation is really good about working with hunters to improve the land. They basically paid most of the cost for Dad to build a pond. And they will log the land for us every 10 years or so, which makes it a good investment. You do have to watch for black bear now though. They've seen signs of them on our property.

Missouri is great for hunters and fishermen. Fisher-people.
