@ dawg23, yea, they go crazy ticketing runners on top the levee...

Most places I park my car I trespass until I reach the sidewalk.

All I got from this was minus the levee board asking you to leave. It's pretty much fair game. Which is the feeling I had the whole time.

Don't steal my crawfish traps back there though, that IS actually a crime.

and then the fight started...

Can I hunt your land across the levee?

Don't got none.

But if I somehow ever acquire some, you'll be on the top of the access list.

The land between the levees and the river is not public land. Many people think this, but it isn't so.

Correct.

There is no land around there that is just open and free to roam on because nobody owns it. SOMEBODY owns every square inch of dirt now. If it isn't you, you're trespassing.

I got a ticket for it once because I went to pull a buddy out of the mud. The levee patrol said he had no problem with us being back there, but gave both of us tickets for riding on the levee.

It was ridiculous too because I went up a pretty well used "road" that I have seen cops and people working back there using.

This was on LSU property at the end of Ben Hur. The next property over belonged to a buddy of mine

correct, i hunt behind the levee regularly in Iberville parish, it is land owned by my buddys FIL, as long as you have permission and not parking on top of the levee or acting like a jackass you should be fine. you will get in trouble if you do not have permission from the land owner.
