How early in the fall do they start biting

this question has always intrigued me.

They are animals just like the rest of us they eat everyday or as clsoe to that as they can.

Finding them in concentrated schools is more difficult depending on the time of the year but you can catch any fish year round, especially freshwater fish which have a relatively small containment area.

These were last weekend. Not many but decent size. You can catch them all year but definately more numbers from about now (first decent cool front) through spring spawn. The summer bite is kinda hit and miss in my experience. I have made alot of brush piles which helps in targeting them. They are from 10-35 ft deep and they will move to different depths throughout the year.

sink cut out from a granite slab makes a great filet surface.

First off, cleaning them with a spoon is so not Tier One OB best practices.

Secondly, I see bass in those pics, please be prepared to be assaulted by those who who believe every bass should be released. (Not me, I think they are delicious).

I used to catch them year round, but I don't fish them much anymore.

If I want some today, I could get them out my pond.

My Dad's favorite, if they are big enough.

The slice with the bones is still the best.
