Yeah my vital shocks will crush both shoulders. Was trying to not have to put it on the shoulders and lose the meat there.

inchester ballistic tips

I have been hunting out of the same box for close to 12 years. I shoot 130 grain out of my .270 A-bolt

They seem to be pretty devastating. Haven't lost one yet with these.

Used to shoot Winchester supreme ballistic tips 130gr out of my .270

Switched to 150gr core lokt last 2 seasons. Much more pleased with the results of these.

.270 win: Federal blue box 150 gr round nose soft point. Most badass bullet on the face of the earth. Cannot recommend enough.

Switching to these now that I'm out of core lokt, since downshift recommended them do many times

Hornady SSTs
Barnes TTSX (dropped the shite out of an elk at 300 yards)
Swift Scirocco II
Hornady Interbond

...all reloads in different calibers (.243, .260, .270, 30-06, .300 Mag). All drop deer and keep the meat untouched.

I liked them. Til I shot a couple deer with lead soft points and saw how much more damage was done.

30-06 Remington Core Lokt 150gr shoots best out of my rifle and it's cheap so I go with that.

300 Win Mag 150gr CoreLokt PSP = DEAD

My dad shot that Ballistic Silvertip in his 300RUM and they broke apart in mid air. Would leave multiple holes in the paper. I personally would never use a ballistic tip of any type.

.270 Winchester 130 gr. accutip

I'm thinking of changing to something else though. I've had a few runners in the past few years even though my placement was good. I think it lacks the knock down power of the good old core lockt

Remington Core-Loc in my .280 160 grain I think

Same for my 30-06 except 180 grain. Love these bullets

Hornady in my 45-70 and I hate them

I find hornady ammunition to be very overrated. I've never been overly impressed by it.

I've been intending to get back to you with my bow but I have a lot going on right now. Once I get it dialed in at least at one pin I'll give you a holla

In my 45-70 I'm assuming the bullets are to soft. Deer never drop, no exit wound, and hardly bleed at all making tracking that much harder.

Remington Core Loks..but only after Ive carried em around for a few years and got em nice and brown. Cant have all that flashy brass scaring off the deer.

Also, shoot a bunch better if the tip has been numbed down to look like the end of a hotdog, more impact and stopping power that way.

I know exactly what you speak of

When I shot ballistic tips, I found they worked better when the plastic tips were smashed and crooked

Truth is I bought a .280 just to have something different(silly decision), it is almost impossible to find anything but Core Loks.
