What's the deal with Academy Sports spin-off: Does the OB shop at Academy?

My dad and I love to go there. So does my mom.
We're all outdoor savvy, my father and myself are mostly fishermen. We have experienced hunting dogs.

But what do you guys who are knee deep in hunting and fishing think of Academy?

For the most part: I have gotten most of the clothes I use for boating and hiking at Academy for much cheaper than else where. I also get LSU and Saints regalia for gifts there.

Just want to know what you think of Academy Sports and Outdoors.

How do you feel about the return policy there?

It's all a matter of convenience for me. Bass Pro is closest to me for my outdoor gear, Academy comes in 2nd and then Cabelas(if necessary). Dicks is out of the question, their hunting gear selection blows.

So if you wanted to buy a pricey item that's name brand and both Bass Pro and Academy carried it, which would you buy it at if Academy's was slightly cheaper yet had the same warranty.

I like the place. Wish they wouldn't have stopped carrying the basic offshore stuff, sabikis, leader material, hooks, etc.. I understand their rod return policy is pretty stellar also.

Bass Pro, simply because it's closer to me.

My only real gripe is lack of price tags. Maybe 30% of their rods are priced. Walked all the way from the back Friday with a 94 quart cooler only to discover that one had no bar code.

I have the store credit card.

I spend way too much money there.

I wish we had Academy here.
We have Dicks (which I won't step back in) Gander and Bass Pro.

Bass Pro is too far, Gander is too high (although their shooting range is amazing) which doesn't leave much.

This x10000000. I was shocked when they didn't have tooth proof wire there the other day.

I now have to go up the road to superior and spend all kinds of money for offshore tackle.

Stepping in the door at superior is atleast a $300 for me.

Same.

And the SO always wants to tag along because she gets her workout clothes there. I'm not opposed to this. She always asks my approval when buying new running tights or yoga pants.
