I had been looking for a new tow vehicle for a bit now. I was kind of waiting for the perfect deal. But the wife got into an accident on Friday(not her fault, shes is okay as well) and my tahoe is likely totaled.

Still debating between a crew cab pickup and SUV. Is the tahoe/suburban pretty much top of the mark, for an SUV?

Yep, I'd would go with the suburban, because the insurance is cheaper.

2500 suburban

I have a sequoia and love it but you may not have any interest is a Yota. I've pulled a 19ft CC 6 hrs to the coast and back without any problems.

I'm towing either a 21 ft ski boat or 27ft cc, 15 miles for the day to day or 5 hrs to 13 hrs a few trips a year.

Suburban has 8000lbs ( I think)

+1

I stay away from anything Union-Made in Detroit...or wherever they make them now.

I think suburbans are more than tahoes and they are 8200 or 8400.

However, everyone doesn't rate theirs the same way. So who knows.

My wife has a 2011 Yukon xl with the 5.3

I've towed a trailer with a 5,000 lb tractor plus implements (another 2k) without issue. Wouldn't do it daily, but a couple times a year isn't bad.

Biggest boat I've hauled is 20ft express, and it was no issue at all. It should haul anything you need outside of a crazy big
Cigarette boat or big offshore boat.

Nissan NV3500 HD
9500lb tow rating.

5.6l V8

Things are huge. Base price is around 35k but you can get up on that real quick with all the options.

The Sequoia is really nice. It's much better than any domestic SUV's. And that's coming from someone who drives a 12' Expedition. If I would have known how nice the Seqouia's are I sure wouldn't have the Expedition today.

I have a 2011 QX56 (now called the QX80) it is the new body style. It has pretty good towing capacity as well as stopping power. Anything can move a load with wheels under it. You need to be able to stop said load as well.

Pretty sure suburban is the correct answer here. The Tahoe and Sequoia will get the job done, but the shorter wheel bases may make for a squirrelier pull...same for the Durangos too.
