My concealed carry depends on what I am wearing.
Most of the time I carry a Glock 27 IWB. If I am wearing a suit or have to have my shirt tucked in, I go with a S&W titanium airweight .38+P.
I used to carry my 4" Kimber 1911 IWB but the Glock is much more managable.

If you are dead set on an ankle holster, get an M&P Shield... pretty comfortable on the ankle but also very easy to just slip iwb when you're making quick trips to and fro.

Sure.
Check out Crossbreed supertuck, Old Faithful, Galco king tuck, etc.
No reason you cant carry with a tucked in shirt, but you will need to use a gun with a smaller grip length.

My White Hat holster that my SR9c is carried in is tuckable. It's a pain in the arse tucking it in and stuff, but it's doable.
I'd consider a pocket 380. Some people claim some subcompact 9mms are pocket carryable but I don't think it's the case. It can be carried in SOME pockets but not ALL pockets. My dad can carry his Kahr 380 in his pocket wearing scrubs. It is the best pocket 380 on the market.

kahr is a great recommendation. I can carry my Ruger LCP in my pocket with ease, but my LC9 would have to go in a wallet holster in the back pocket. Little too big for the front comfortably. Ive seen people carry decent size 9's in the front, but they were heavier and wore lose pants. I wear 32's and jeans usually. Just not enough room to get it in and out easily.

This is why I'm a big fan of the pocket 380s. Yea, it's only a 380, but it will be with you 24/7 no matter how small your pockets are. That's why I recommend them so highly.

Ruger LCP- I can carry in my back pocket no matter how cold/hot it is. Another plus is, you dont have to spend 600+ dollars like you will with the Kahr. Quality 380 pocket pistol at around 325-425 dollars.

I have bought and sold a few concealed carry pistols in the last few years and this is my favorite combo by far. I also use a Crossbreed mini-tuck. The mini-tuck is nice and probably better if I ever had to draw under duress, but it's not quite as concealable. Still a great option.
Had a Kahr MK9 - basically a steel version of the CM9. Steel is too heavy IMO.
Had a Glock 26 - small pistol, but double stack is far inferior to single stack as far as comfort. I would like higher capacity, but I just didn't carry the 26 often b/c of the width.
Had a Kahr 380. Loved the size for pocket carry, but it was a 380.
You could substitute the Ruger LC9, Kimber Solo, XDS 9 (as if you will be able to find one when they come out), etc for the Kahr CM9, but the Ruger has a weird safety and crappy sights (IIRC) and the others are more expensive.

The CW380 is a new release from SHOT show in January and only retails around $320. The P380 is the one around $500-$600.

I'm not a fan of ankle carry for two reasons: 1. Discomfort. Most who start out w/ ankle carry don't stay w/ it very long before stopping it due to discomfort. Who wants an extra 1-2" strapped to one ankle all day? You may be one of the few who does......or you may be one of the many who doesn't....
2. Drawing a gun from ankle carry is awkward at best and tactically nearly impossible at worst. Inside the waistband (IWB) is a great option for you. As bapple mentioned, it's kind of a hassle getting holstered up every AM, but it's doable. Plus, if you get a light gun (i.e. weighs less than 1.5") you can prolly use an IWB holster w/ only one clip instead of two.

The #1 rule in a gunfight is ----- don't get shot. Which, for most people, means move your arse and get behind some cover.
Drawing from an ankle holsters, while running, is difficult for non-ninjas.
To the OP -- have you considered something as basic as untucking your polo shirt ???
I'm asking, because most people, given a choice, rank personal safety as being more important than personal fashion.
Untucking the shirt (one could even explore the world of camp shirts) will give you the option of OWB carry, which will allow you to choose a quality//reliable gun (M&P, Glock, HK or Sig) that holds a reasonable quantity of ammo, and is reasonably easy to control.
The foregoing is based on the presumption that you plan to carry on a regular basis (i.e. 365 days per year). But I understand that very few people (on this board, or in general) do. In which case your carry method becomes much less important.
If you allow yourself to be steered to a mousegun, the pocket carry option that TOTH suggested will be a LOT better than ankle carry.

I gave you the winning advice a few posts back. I have carried that way to work wearing my regular sized jeans and a tucked polo.
With the extra mag that is 12 rounds of 9mm.
