Don't do this. Be a dad and make the right/safe choice for him-he's relying on you. The proper time will come. Your life will be destroyed if he gets hurt on a four wheeler you provided to him at too soon a time.He is NOT ready and it's not even close. This is a no brainer. This is your son/family.

My 7 year old drives my 500. If I was buying one just for him it'd be a 250 or 300 though

correct and you can do this with almost any bike
it's an easy crutch to help with him to learn and for you to sleep at night
we grew up on an ATC 110 and flipped it all the time but it was so light you could just push it off of you and the rear rack acted as kind of a ROPS
